Bobby was excellent, MOTM.

Everything good came from him today; the winning goal, Origi's offside goal, Milner's chance, and he wasn't even playing as a number 9. He never stopped running; his composure and his intelligent use of the ball really stands out.

Just watched the match. How the fuck Moreno didn't score that open net is beyond me.

He's truly fucking shite. Was convinced they'd score immediately after.

We played pretty well tbh, that drilling on set pieces obv had some effect cos we didn't look nearly as hapless as usual, plus the tactic of not giving them set pieces or corners at all costs was a sound one.

Coutinho was intrinsic to almost everything positive we did, although once he was taken off late on it looked as though the forwards got more freedom, but that's hard to tell cos they were obviously pushing forwards a lot more at that point too.

I wanted to highlight this. For a so called attacking flair player, he doesn't half put in a shift. Never gives up even when it's not coming off for him and he's constantly challenging CB's in the air, making them think and often catching them out.

Yes it's frustrating when his flair touches don't come off, but his work rate earns him that. Im not sure he gets enough credit for his work rate at times.

Whenever I've seen him on the pitch at Anfield this has been my lasting impression of him, he works his fucking arse off & chases so much down, has a helluva impact.

Sadly the restrictions of television mean most of that is lost when you watch on screen instead of in person.

Nor is Lucas to be fair. But your point was Klopp not wanting one. He does, he plays Hendo and now Lucas in that position.

Lucas is a holding midfielder. Not a very good one but definitely a holding midfielder. Klopp doesn't seem to want one as he prefers the mobility of hendo rather than someone just sitting there protecting the back 4. We look more solid with a DM than hendo who roams the pitch .

I dunno, I've often wondered why it's only used in those situations.

In most cases the chance of gaining a point is far better than the risk of losing one goal on your goal difference.
