Everyone is in an understandably shite mood right now - so I want to make a thread consciously focusing on whatever few positives we see even in games like last night. Gakpo’s improved link-up play was one, Bajtecic’s continued maturation another, Elliott scored his 5th goal of the season, which is a decent return for a teenager mostly playing in midfield. But the biggest consistent positive for me in the last few weeks has been this man:

He started shakily after coming back from an injury and the WC, his mistakes actually cost us in the first couple of games back. But since then he has been a one-man defensive wall, plugging all the gaps he can get to, keeping calm amid the chaos and making a real case to be viewed as Van Dijk’s long-term successor. Trying to shore up our defence will be a losing battle this season, until all the other issues are sorted - but respect to Konate for actually showing up for that battle every single time and never shirking from a difficult task! This is how strong footballers are made.

- We are the second biggest revenue generating club in the world.
- Elliot is capable of playing front 3 it seems and growing. Easy to forget he is 19, if we had a performing team, he would be talked about as the new jewell. I like his spirit and lad has balls to keep trying at this age.
- New stand should be done next year, may have a chance to get some tickets.
- Arsenal were 5th last year and the league isn’t strong as it has been previously. We can make the gap if we are smart.

I bought a nice Palermo FC shirt for my son, must be old; £20. Might get one for myself. They are probably a bunch of fascists but I reckon I can pull off that shade of pink.

These are my positives while I'm on a work trip in Palermo and missed the FA Cup fuck up while I was travelling.

I'll hit you with a positive - A chess clock I bought for my friends birthday arrived today. It took three months to get here but the fella that sent it lives in the Ukraine and it's an antique (circa 1982) He did tell me that due to the fact that his town is being bombed might delay the delivery time!!!! Some people might have baulked at that but I trusted him and it was well worth the wait. He DID send it and I love it - My mate wil too. It even has - CCCP written on it. Proper old school communist 1982 flavour.

Oh and Elliott was ace 🙂

I’ve got plenty of positives.

1. Konate
2. Alisson looking like he’ll be the best keeper in the world for many more years yet
3. Klopp recently signing new contract
4. We dont have to play Brighton again this season
5. Madrid going through a patchy time themselves and gonna be starstruck when we smash them to pieces like Barca did in the supercup last week.
6. MoMo is a sexy bastard and he cleans up well

Positives
Elliot, Bajetic and Konate are the bright sparks.
Thiago hadn't died.

Negatives
Our "big hitters" have stunk. Looking like pub players who can't even control the ball, can't pass, turn their backs to the ball, pussy out of challenges, can't defend can't run, play hoofball.

Another positive is there will probably never be another “Fück You Hansern Cup” thread, due to this method of anti-jinxing proving to be rather useless.

@Hansern thread starting had rejuvenated our season until Brizzle decided to poke his nose in suddenly. One cannot interrupt such a run. I understand when newbie posters make such a mistake. But when veteran's like the Brizzle, who has been through our ups and downs together, don't respect the power of the jinx, how can we even hope to have a good season.

That's not positive. Delete

They were the three positives for me really. Bajcetic has to stay in the side. More energy, gets stuck in and keeps the ball moving. Konate is a beast and Elliott is playing well and scoring goals. Thiago is doing well too but again only lasts about 60 minutes.

Robbo is horribly out of form, he has been for a while.

Did anyone else see Klopp going ape shit at Gomez early in the game? Konate shielded the ball and was saying to Gomez to come and clear it, and Gomez just looked at him and looked at him, then eventually woke up and cleared the ball. He was much better on Sunday, but it's those stupid brainless moments that prevent him from improving. It's brainless, utterly brainless.

Positives

(1) We're positively fucked.
(2) Fabinho is still covid positive
(3) Bajcetic is a baller and posters are spelling his name right.
(4) Elliot slander on this forum has stopped, as he is starting to play more forward
(5) Konate
(6) Gakpo and Nunez will come good
(7) Klopp has stopped starting Hendo and Fab. Maybe he's smelt the coffee.

Nothing to lose this season so it's the best time to get a new team going and give the youngsters minutes. hopefully Ramsay gets back and we see more of him, Doak, and Tsimi.

It's a big shout re Fabinho and Henderson. Let's hope Klopp doesn't revert to type and ease them back in. The crux of it all will be when Keita and/or Thiago eventually, inevitably get injured.

A big positive is that Klopp wants to stay. We look like we've become a really poorly-run club in terms of recruitment and retention, and, coupled to FSG's unwilling to invest in the squad to the extent we need, would be pretty disheartening to a manager who could get this pick of clubs. I'm glad Klopp wants to stay and sort things out, and I hope his enthusiasm for doing so is an indication that the ownership situation will be sorted out positively.

Classic Joe Go having his trademark brain fog moments.

It’s like a few of his brain cells suddenly just go sod it lads let’s have a break now. Can’t be arsed.

Someone needs to inject him with Gingko or Duracell or something.
