Porto crack out lube in preparation for Liverpool bid

"Shoe-horned" may be pushing it a little. It's true he didn't have much experience on the left, but a top-level fullback should be able to switch flanks without too much trouble.

I agree more time will be needed to establish for definite whether Magic can be a long-term bet at LB. What I'm saying is that IMO his performances in that position this season make it a reasonable proposition to give him that time there. His defensive positioning has greatly improved and he's got forward to good effect as well.

Will Glen Johnson himself want to play at LB from now on though?

Particularly given the fact that it will possibly place his England spot under threat.

Fair question. I don't know the answer but, whatever it is, the King will factor it into his decision. If, having done so, he keeps Magic on the left that's good enough for me. Ditto if he doesn't, of couse.

I think he's a 8 on the Cole scale.

Well he's still young, so I guess it could still be a case of Rolando bloom.
