Poor The Bitters

I've heard rumours they're completely skint. Something must be going badly wrong. They're still a decent size club who are getting outspent year on year by the likes of Sunderland, Wigan and Stoke. Doesn't really stack up

Their Season Tickets are dirt cheap and they advertise midweek on Radio City due to poor sales.

The Peoples Club. Arf!

I think Vlad normally has an annual bet on them going down, this is the first season where I could actually see it as a possibility, especially if they lose a few more players.

They're in for Aidan McGeady appaz, with Billywotshisface on his way out.

Didn't someone post something on here a while back about the interest we were being reported as showing in Rodwell, saying there were whispers we could indeed get him if the offer were high enough?

I wonder what Moyes is holding out for.

He is forever being praised for what a great job he has done (not so sure personally) but his club seems to be a permanent mess. Is he hoping that Everton will be taken over? Is he waiting for the right job to come up (lots have been available since he has been at Everton yet he's still there)? Or is he just happy to be seen as 'doing as well as he can given the circumstances'?

Yeah, I think United were interested aswell though. Apparently there are question marks over his development with alot of fans a bit bemused by how highly rated he is. Alot of them think it's based on his initial promise, when in truth he hasn't really progressed as much as expected.

He's got to have some ambition, surely? He's done a good job for a while now, given the limited resources, they've always remained within touching distance of the European places and they've often played some good football and given the top sides a game.

You'd think wouldn't you? But he's been there since 2002. After Ferguson and Wenger he must be the longest serving manager in the league.

He is highly rated for the reasons you have given and so, given the number of jobs that have come up in the last 9 years most of them would have surely considered him had he been interested. Unless he is hoping to be in line for the United or Arsenal job eventually??!!

He's been offered to basically the 'top 7' in the league. No takers cos they're asking for silly money.

I dunno why they're in so much shit but I'm reliably informed they've had to find 8m to debtors this summer.

Have a gander at this, bit sloppy but you get the idea:

Ah diddums. 8)

As for Moyes, one bluenose I know keeps telling me a lot of their fans are convinced he'll be going to the Mancs in two or three years' time, 'coz Ferguson really rates him and will still be the power behind the throne there even after he retires.

Yeah it seems to have been doing the rounds for a while that story, him or Mourinho.. Bit of a difference but you could see United going with something like that, with Fergie more or less as a mentor.

Indeed. IMO the Ferguson factor makes Moyes a more likely appointment than Mourinho. The challenge of the job would appeal to Mourinho all right, and he's vain enough to see it as a good fit for him (which TBF it would be), but I cannot believe he'd accept it with Ferguson's long shadow still hovering over the club. He could yet end up in Manchester though....

BTW once Moyes does go, I'm joining Vlad in placing that bet.
