Poor Fernando

Yeah I was at his last game for us (Thanks Woland) - It was a shocking, sulky, pitiful performance and he looked a shadow of the player I knew he could be. At the time it was awful watching him play against us in his first game - This of course was tempered by Agger's elbow and happily a win. All that aside though without a doubt I'd have him back in a second. A sublime player.

Even though I'm in my 40s I have never felt the same level of treachery with any other player leaving us.
I put this down to him recognising what we had become as a club and accepting it and leaving us behind. We don't get the choice.
Where he went and the timing of it only reinforced the horrible truth that those cunts are at the top of the footballing tree, and we fell out of the tree and broke. I hate him for going, I hate him for joining them despicable crooked wankers and I hate that despite him playing terribly he's now won the European Cup. With them. Unbelievable.
£50 million means fuck all as we wasted it completely.
Would I have him back.
Yes, in a heartbeat.
Do I feel sick every time I see him wearing that vile shirt. Yes.
I hate football.

I dont think he regrets leaving, OK he is a shit shadow of his former self but in terms of ambition you just cannot blame him, European cup winner or scrabbling around with us..... We were all so hurt because he was our golden boy and he obviously did "get it" , sadly we just dont and didnt have the financial power to keep him and we know it. What he said there is not an apology but it is also fair to say that there are a few people at the club who owe us one of those. We werent cutting it as far ashe was concerned and we cashed in.... shame we lost a hero and wasted the cash. Fair play to him to acknowledge that in terms of class and passion and "feeling" we are in a different bracket.

Don't agree with the bolded bit. I think his ambition and his personal preference have pulled him in totally opposite directions over this.

If undying love for the club was that important we'd have kept Babel. It's a bonus.

He didn't really screw us over. 50m pounds.
Bet we were happy to take it.
We could have done a lot with that.
We didn't.

Lol.

A lot of people want to rewrite history. Moments like that are few and far between these days. I could just have easily posted clips of him turning Vidic inside out or ghosting past defenders but that one goal was so, so good.

His time with up was great but for 18 months he was phenomenal. As an LFC supporter living in Spain, he made me extremely proud.

I seem to remember you saying Fowler would score 20 goals for us the season after he'd re-signed for us.

That being said, I think he'd score loads too.

I'd take him back tomorrow. It's a sad state of affairs though, he could have been a legend here and I think if he'd stayed, things would have been much different for us AND him.

He's a cunt. It's not the fact he left, I understand that. It's the fact he spouted a load of shite that made us believe he understood us then went back on every word that was said. Fuck him, the tranny gobshite.

Like like like, i don't get how anyone would welcome him back and then support him again. He shit on us kenny and the club from a very big height.

It's possible for him to have loved this club but not enough to spend the rest of his career in the Europa League.

He clearly became disillusioned with the owners and management and decided to move on for the sake of his career. It's not nice like seeing him at another club, especially at a club like Chelsea, but I don't dislike him any more. Nor do i think he was lying to us throughout his time here. The club was clearly a total mess. Benitez was losing it. H&G were fucking gobshites. Hodgson was the replacement. Then he was replaced by someone who hadn't managed in over a decade. Alonso, Arbeloa, Yossi, Mascherano had all got better moves It was clear even then that we were going to need two to three years to get back into the Champions League and he decided to bail.

Fair enough. If your hearts not in it any more then there's the door. Very little of the hostility shown to Torres goes to other players who chose to move on.
