If you had to choose between the two.. which one would you say is the greater of the two achievements ?

Domestic or international Treble

One that confirms Superiority, being the best in England or the one that confirms it Worldwide

Certainly is regarded as that in the UK. Maybe elsewhere in the world not so much, but here I don't think it's a contest.

Let's just get the domestic treble as well, to make sure we're the most unbearable we can be.

I think to us it is.
Take our hunger for winning the PL out of it..

I think the international treble is the bigger achievement in terms of how many games you have to play to achieve it and the opponent's you potentially have to face to win them..

Finish Top 4, win the the CL win the Super Cup win the WCC

38 + 13 + 1 + 2

38 + 6 + 6 (Excluding Replays)

The premier League ,alone requires 9 months of being the best, week in , week out combined with juggling multiple cup matches for a 1/3rd of the season

What is it 50 odd matches to win the domestic treble and probably not even 20 to win the latter

Well, that ship has sailed.

You forgot taking qualifying for the actual competition into account..[emoji6]

You don't need to win 38 matches to make the top 4 , fuck we've made the top four of some pretty fucking average performances over a season

To win the league you need to be boss over 38 matches, that's before you compare winning the super cup to presumably the FA cup which is just fucking retarded , or even the league cup to the two sides we faced in the WCC

Shit thread

And to add the rules specify you have to complete the domestic season in a qualifying position to qualify, so technically that's 38 games [emoji1787]

Yeah it's ace, but it's a couple of games. Winning a domestic cup means you won quite a few over several months.

We're not even champions of our country. We won two trophies by playing 3 matches. It's nice to win them and it's a decent financial boost, but I'll be gutted if it leads to us losing points to Leicester.

Lets not fool ourselves, the United Treble was a major achievement, they competed in 3 competitions, and whatever you think both the European Super Cup, and this world club cup are just 3 games max. What would be incredible is to win all the domestic stuff like City did last season, and also to win the CL. My biggest fear is that City were very close to doing that last season, and until it becomes obvious that they cannot win the title, it is still a possibility this season that they could achieve this.

But City's achievement last season was incredible and is still better than what we have achieved, mainly because of the number of games they have had to play to win those competitions. Our showing in the domestic cups has been pathetic for the last 3 seasons, and by opting out of those games, has given us an advantage to further our progress in the league, and CL.

I'm not offering you both in this Poll

Is the domestic treble bigger than the international treble ??

It has to be the bread and butter of the league title for me. If we win 3 titles in a row, i may change my mind

Despite all the flummery that surrounds them, the Super Cup and the World Club Cup are actually Mickey Mouse tinpots put up as an excuse for FIFA to coin it off the backs of the participants - nice enough to win, but fundamentally meaningless. The CL is far from that, but one out of three ain't enough to win this match-up IMO.

Uniteds is the best one, then City's, then ours. I'd be happy enough with a league and CL double this year though.

When we did do a treble did in 83/84 - that counts more than City's in my book. As someone has pointed out, the league cup was taken more seriously back then by all sides.

You're right 84 is better than City's. It's European Cup Vs FA Cup, which is a no brainer.
