Anyone know of any decent lfc ones for when I'm bored in the car on long journeys?

I used to enjoy the TAW ones a couple of seasons back, but on the back of our title run they seem to have got tonnes of subscribers & are now under the belief they are some kind of ultra superfans who also have impeccable taste in culture.

It's become akin to listening to try hard wannabe hipsters discussing beard oils. I went to download one for the first time a few weeks ago when bored only to discover it was for premium subscription only, so assume they've moved to a pay model for at least some content, which is frankly ridiculous.

I have never listened to one, because I just presumed they're the way FFF described The Anfield Wrap.

We could easily do better ourselves I'd imagine

The 5Times ones are usually interesting because the ex-pros are far more candid than they are on TV. Molby, Aldo, Evans, Wright and Barnes are some of the ones who feature, with the surprisingly not-stupid-sounding McAteer as host.

The ones that are on the radio are free, the pre-match friday and monday post match afaik.

Totally agree though, I don't think I even listen to them properly anymore. They could do everyone a favour and stop talking about / playing music in their football podcasts.

The Guardian football podcast is alright as a general all teams discussion, it is hosted by the guy who's name escapes me. The main guy from channel 4's Serie A coverage years ago.

Didi Hamann and Danny Murphy are on talksport a lot too. Hamann does a couple of days a week 10 or 11am until 1pm with Colin Murray. It can be entertaining.

Don't the Bib Theorists have one ? I know another site stopped theirs recently but can't remember who that was.

James Richardson. I don't always agree with all the journalists on the Guardian Football Weekly podcast but it's rarely uninteresting and Richardson is a very good host, often very amusing. I like the Football Ramble as well. I used to listen to The anfield wrap but as everyone else has said its full of itself now and has been for a long time.

I also listen to the five times podcast though they don't put it out that regularly.

The Guardian one is the best. Funny and pretty well-informed.

I don't like the Times one. Marcotti gets on my nerves and I can't abide Allyson Rudd. In general it's just achingly PC and humourless.

I've not found a good dedicated LFC one. Agree with the consensus on TAW, it's annoying now. Why does Liverpool seem to breed these kind of perrennial student Trotskyist music bores?

Give the Anfield Wrap a go, most of the contributors are very insightful, especially the guy who manages Marine and Steve Graves from The Echo.

I think you guys are being a bit harsh on the Anfield Wrap. I enjoy their post match reviews but definitely can do without the 8,327 other podcasts they put out per week.

100% in agreement their music and culture snobbery is annoying.

They have some insightful football guests though and I like hearing their takes on Liverpool. There are two guys I can't stand though, don't know their names only can identify them by their obnoxious voices.

-Football Weekly is good but don't expect much in the way of in depth analysis or tactics.
-Second Captains football from the Irish Times is general pretty quality.
-The Football Ramble is great for the lulz

Just pop up an audiobook in. I, Partridge would at least be half as good as any Liverpool fan podcast you'd bother listening to.

The opening question to each football podcast is beyond annoying. Maybe it's because I don't understand their references half the time but is it really necessary to have a five minute discussion about everyone's favorite type of biscuit at the start of a footy podcast?

Thanks to you all folks. I'll have a listen those in the car tomorrow. Most appreciated.
