It seems we have had a fair few over the years..

Off the top of my head..

Kewell - When we signed him I was proper made up.. he turned out to be injured more often than playing..
Smicer - Screamed potential from the word go.. Sadly injuries never released that potential..
Redknapp - Brilliant player.. his constant injuries and the emergance of Gerrard sadly ended his..
Sturridge - Seems to have continual muscle and thigh issues.. Class player... But will these injuries eventually take its toll.. ?
Heggem - I will always remeber his goal against Middlesborough.. This lad had everything you wanted from a full back.. Sadly injuries put paid to that
Owen - Played too often too early ruined his career... Fault ? Gerard H, always returned him from Injury too Early when he had other decent options availble to him (Fowler)... This lad really should of been able to play at the highest level into his 30's.. Shame he became a Judas though..

These are to name a few... I am sure their is more though...

Who else, im sure we could get a 'Glass legs' Starting 11 together ?

Nah. Michael recently insisted there's no such thing as burn out, so the whiny, weedy, horse-loving dwarf dweeb has no one else to blame for his multiple injuries.

But Kirkland, of course, would start our XI off in fine style.

When all fit.. that team would rip most teams apart..

I'd be worried when we come to playing teams like Stoke (of old) though

I was going to suggest Mark Wright for centre back as he had a lot of back problems.....then I remembered that Kelly still exists.

Did he ever play for England? If not: his poor Dad, knowing that bet he had was so close but so far from winning him a handsome sum.

Edit: Scrap that. Bastard Dad, netting £10 grand after his chocolate-wristed son somehow managed to win a cap!

The family of goalkeeper Chris Kirkland have won close to £10,000 on a bet after he took the field for England in the friendly match against Greece.

Eddie Kirkland put on a bet 12 years ago that his son would win an England cap before turning 30.

The syndicate can collect their winnings after Leicester-born Kirkland, 25, who is on loan from Liverpool to Wigan, came on in the second half.

Mark Wright could have been a legend if not for his injuries.

I remember there was a great defender during his time called Mattias Sammer who almost mastered the libero role and Mark Wright was closely compared to him.

Even looked a bit like him.

Who was the goalkeeper that dislocated his shoulder in a vicious ironing incident... Stensgaard?

Didn't Jari Lithminen have rubbish knees and couldn't run in training hence he was shipped out as soon as he arrived.

Wright looked a bit of a dud when he first arrived, but later on when we really needed him (when we were struggling under Souness) he improved a lot and turned in some excellent performances under pressure. Had it not been for him we'd have done even worse than we often did at that time.

Nah, this is and always was piffle. Jari's knees were no worse when he left than they were when we signed him and he then went on to play (and score) in the Champs League for Ajax FFS. I've often wondered if this was just a case of fans and commentators desperately trying to make some sense of what was actually a serious mistake on our part, or whether it was a rumour put about on GH's behalf (there were persistent rumours that Jari and GH had fallen out and frankly I'm inclined to believe them, because there were zero footballing reasons for bombing the guy out the way we did, besides which GH's policy was "one strike and you're out").
