The only surprise would be Jake Brimmer who was supposed to be a mercurial talent or something according to Rodgers. He's the kid we supposedly noticed during our Australian pre season tour a few years ago.
 
I think it was rumoured last week that Lloyd Jones and Jordan Williams would be released, so I was expecting to see maybe one of their names in the list. Looks like both have been retained and Williams has been offered a contract extension.
 
I liked Dunn a lot when I first saw him at U18 level. Unfortunately, his progress was just wrecked by so many spells out with injury. Moved on to Tranmere Rovers now.

Have we released anyone that has gone on to make our decision look stupid by taking a chance elsewhere and turning into a great player?
 
I can't think of any. We've released a few like Jim Magilton and Craig Hignett who've done okay in a very modest way. I guess that's still our most likely level of academy product.
 
We didn't release Suso though, did we? He wouldn't sign a new contract and then sneaked off to Milan (where he allegedly had a medical before he'd even finished his contract).

Rodgers wanted him to sign an extension, but he wanted more first team opportunities.
