PLAYERS OUT

Yes but which ones? Only naming those who played today...

Robertson, Gomez, Fabinho, Milner should all be sold/retire

Henderson, Salah in last chance saloon.

Gakpo, Nunez too early to tell, could be suffering from shit play by those around them.

Jones only retained because of his home grown status.

We need to tear it all down.

I think I'd actively keep maybe 4 or 5 players from this entire squad? The rest I'm ambivalent about at best.

The worst thing is, the rotting of this team is entirely our own doing. You could see it happening a mile off.

Well those with half a brain rather than falling for "look what we've done with this team" arguments.

One of the forum’s biggest gobshites has been saying it for ages.

Me.

Leaving it until this point to realise that we need to strengthen and rebuild is fucking idiotic. We have found ourselves having to battle it out with the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle as well now for players, on top of other rivals. United have gotten their shit together now, too. All this should've been done 2 years ago at least, and planned for and put in place some years before that.

Instead, we've pinned all our hopes on Bellingham while we've let the team decline to a level where he won't even want to come by the time we actually make a move. Absolutely retarded.

Bellingham is not a magic bullet.

We've fallen into the same trap we did in 1990..

We are at the edge of the abyss.

That’s why Ward has been sacked

start with the people who approved handing salah and hendo new contracts.
then the person/people who prioritized Gakpo over a FUCKING CENTRAL MIDFIELDER
Unfortunately you mean Klopp... Klopp personally vouched for keeping Henderson on relatively big contract...

A weaknesses of Klopp is that he's too loyal sometimes...

I agree get rid of Hendo, Firmino and Ox straight away.

Actively ship out Gomez, Milner, Keita, Ox, Jones, Firmino, Fabinho (unless used purely as back up), phase Hendo out - he should be playing the role Milner should've been playing for the last 4 years. Entertain offers if they come (which they won't) for Matip, Thiago, Salah and Kelleher. Not sold on Nunez or Gakpo. If anyone is mental enough to give us what we paid for them, so be it. I'm worried about Jota and Diaz's fitness. Watch that space. The likes of Van Dijk, Robertson, Salah and Alisson need to have replacements waiting in the wings yesterday.

All this is pie in the sky of course. We're not gonna see that kind of turnover. But that's the position you're in when you should've started rebuilding 5 years ago. A stitch in time saves nine afterall...

Stop being so sensible

I actually don't think that us on him. I reckon FSG are just weird when it comes to spending.

I do think the players we have signed recently stink, though. And that's on Ward.
I think they’re okay. It appears they’ve left control of that ideology to the club and those in charge have fucked upnn

Maybe. I dunno. None of us know really. I just know it's a shitshow. Whoever was responsible for the faffing about over a cb the other a year and the reluctance to sign at least 2 cms this year deserves to be bloodeagled at the Shankly gates, though. If us keyboard warriors can see and call what's gonna happen, how can't they?

So you want offers for Kelleher who's the replacement ?
Huh?

Refreshing the team continually? yes. Strengthening while on top? yes.
Rebuild 5 years ago? Come on now.

Kelleher is more about him leaving for first team football. He's a good deputy, but he's not good enough to be number one here. So sell.

Maybe 5 years was hyperbole, but the building blocks need to be in place. Definitely should've been adding one or two young, quality players a year to slot in from around the time we won the CL. Like Ferguson used to do at United. Instead we signed Van Den Berg and Minamino. Not good enough. The club is stagnant.

Agree re: poor investment.
We've kinda taken the path of the Red Sox, who's fans booed John Henry last week, because he's allowed one of the best teams in baseball (that he was key in building) stagnate and become a bottom dweller in the AL East. Wait, where have I read this before?
I think 1-2 players wasn't necessary - 1 23-25 year old every window would have been fine ... but we've been sleeping and our owners are not going to deviate from the model that got them there ... Which begs the question - why didn't we sell Salah or Mane at their peak to Coutinho MK II the squad?
I think there's one more cycle with Klopp ... but to hear him 'defend' the owners that the team is ok after this loss today is tough.

I'm not down ... or upset ... just sucks

Selling Mane was a bad decision. The hate for Mane by some fickle Liverpool fans when his form dropped a bit was incredible.

Yet Firmino who brings home 180k a week and has been poor for YEARS no one taking about him with the same intensity that we slapped onto Mane when his form dropped.

Mane played with passion and intensity that we are missing up front.

Of course I'm crying over some thing that's to late to do any thing about regarding Mane. But what I'm highlighting is that the club have made some bad decisions for a while. They should have charmed and made more effort to get Mane to stay on, and let (or sold) Firmino go instead.

Another thing Momo was right about. We should’ve sold Firm in 2019. Mane was sold a year too late and we are stuck with a £15 million a year anchor around our neck.

Is it the owners or the collective shite who are paid hundreds of thousands a year to deal with?

We still have spent hundreds of millions. From being in a good place. We would’ve spent more when moving on those at their highest value and their returns were diminishing.

Mane wanted to go Mwake, he’d won everything there is to win in England. What were we supposed to do? Keep an unhappy player and let him run his contract down? Actually good business to get the money back we paid for him.

Kelleher we should absolutely sell if we got a decent offer 20m reasonable? Bring forward Pitauglia or whatever his name is.
Nat Phillips 10m? Lets hope so.
Bobby Naby Milner Ox leaving anyway.
Thiago 10m?
Jones 20m?
Elliott 30m?
Fab 20m?
Hendo couple quid and a freddo bar for each SCM member?
Sell the lot.

Suddenly we got bit of funds to fanny around with and a lot of deadwood wages off the payroll.
