Anyone watching this on LFCTV now??

St John just savaged Souness for being a crap manager. I reckon he's prepared with a scotch or 2.

and the answer is Fowler.

St. John regularly comes across as bitter about everything after 65, which I'm not sure why.

He's just had another pop at Souness for being "dirty".

St John is a right bitter cunt at times. Souness and Houllier weren't the best managers we'd ever had but they did at least have some modicum of success unlike him as a manager. Some of the vitriol he used to come out with against Houllier on the local radio station used to make me cringe.

The slowest talker in the world now on the phone talking about McManaman being the best player of the 90's. The presenter referred to the Bolton league cup final and he says "I can't remember that specific game".

If he's your player of the decade, at least remember what was probably his best game.

Berger had more than just moments, he had fine seasons but was ultimately ruined by injury.

He was a class player.

I liked Berger.

So it would seem.

I know, but top 5?

I don't think he'd be out of place. It was hardly an era full of talent...

Fowler, Barnes, Owen, Rush, Berger, Mcmanaman and Jones are the only candidates I can remember.

Collymore's first season, when he and Robbie were frightening up front, might make him a candidate if a single season can.

If only Beardsley could have been on the list too. He should have finished his career with us. Souness (and the King, on whose advice Souness apparently acted) dropped a ricket there.

Yeah, he's a worthy contender too.

Although selling him for £7M was a great bit of business.

Good grief, yes. One of THE great might-have-beens of English football, but we did well to get that for him when we did.

If Collymore had the right mental attitude (and capability) he could have been an awesome player. Shame he was a temperamental loon.

Wayne Harrison?

Not really comparable. He got a bad injury.

I thought he hit the ale whilst injured though?

That said, stan obviously proved himself as class beforehand whereas Wayne did not.

I turned onto that programme briefly. Some fella was droning on about McManaman so I switched over in the end.

Having said that if I was to choose the best player from the 90s I probably would go for McManaman just ahead of Fowler.

People like Jones, Redknapp, Berger and Owen also have to be considered but given that McManaman was a major part of the FA Cup win in 92 and the League Cup win in 95 he would just get it.

The likes of Barnes and Rush did have their moments in the 90s but you'd have to say that their best days were in the 80s
