We have booked a week away in France, a few hours south of Paris, for our summer holiday. On the way there we have a hotel booked in Canterbury to break up the journey prior to the Dove to Calais crossing, but want to stay within an hour of the ferry on the way home to again break the journey up.
Been looking around, but as I don't know the area have no idea where would be the best place to stay for a day. Any ideas anyone? Looked at Amiens but it reviews call it quite dirty (mind you I have stayed in Napoli so nothing would surprise me now!), and also looked over the border at Bruges but don't know of any other decent places in Belgium. Any help would be appreciated.
