I've waited for this day for about a year.

What a complete bellend

He's a tool alright but he did well for Hull and I'd say there are plenty of mid to upper table championship clubs willing to give him a shot.

I suspect he will want a Premiership job though, which I would be surprised if he would get.

Your right, when I was thinking about teams that would give him a job I couldn't think of a current premiership club that would take the risk. He's the Sarah Palin of football managers, a real maverick.

Brown for Liverpool.

25-1 apparently.

Incredibly harsh. Takes an ordinary side, with little money to spend, into the Premier League. Keeps them there in his first season. And then gets the sack wehn things go wrong.

He's a victim of his own success.

Still, he's a bellend, so whatchagonnado.

I read he got sacked from Charlton because of his bizarre training methods.

I.e, making the players drag sleds full of heavy weights up hills.

Haha, the medics and players kicked off to the chairman, stopped playing for him and he was out the door.

I reckon he was a Rocky fan. He also had them catching chickens apparently. True story.

Lots of Dowie articles mention that he has a degree in astrophysics (and then inevitably make a 'rocket science' gag) but how come nobody seems to talk about his film career and superlative performance in The Goonies?

As for Ryan's post, well, he is indeed due credit for getting Hull into the Premiership (and staying there) but the board probably felt that they were *doomed* unless they made a change - any change - to try and arrest a vertiginous slump, a mad gamble (esp considering they chose Dowie) that probably won't work, but had to be taken anyway, because they know just how double-fucked Hull's finances are (no money Ryan? How the fuck do you think they got Bullard in?) and that relegation may be the end of Hull

Vertiginous eh? That's a new one for the 6CM Thesaurus

That's strongman training, nothing strange about that.
It's fucking awesome

Only if you think a players performance isn't improved by being fitter and stronger
