We lost two important players in the game, Johnson and Agger. We also lost our most important player before the game, Gerrard.

I've said before so I wouldn't call it a knee-jerk reaction, but Suarez is far too good to play with such technically inept players around him. We need Gerrard back pronto.

Was Spearing playing? Spearing better than Lucas my arse.

I've been raving about Kyrgiakos before, so I think I have to apologise to you guys for being so wrong.

Can't blame Kenny, considering the injuries. The players who came in were obviously not meant to play.

Carra did a fantastic job out there and he's my MOM along with Suarez.

Kenny should look to the youth now with Johnson, Aurelio, Agger and Kelly out of commision.
I never want to see Kyrgiakos play. And I don't want to see Wilson on the left.

I have to say it again I feel sorry for Suarez.

Nothing much has changed yet.

We still have a poor squad and these results are going to happen regardless of how good or bad people think the manager is.

We've lost to Blackpool, West Ham and West Brom under Kenny.

Like his predecessors it seems he cant find the solution against weaker sides..

We just need to face up to the fact that we have too many mediocre players , too many players with question marks over them and too many players who look decent enough one game but then absolute crap the next . I'm talking Skrtel , the greek, lucas , spearing , maxi, wilson, Poulsen , N'Gog , Cole and to a lesser extent Kuyt . And a few others i've missed .

Anyway we need to make some final decisions on these guys , a number have been here a few years and aren't getting any better or more consistent. Obviously finances will dictate how many we can replace , hopefully it's a fair few of them .

On top of that we have Agger and Aurelio with their injury issues. I like both when fit but it's becoming a joke now. Ok it's not their fault but again it's time to bite the bullet and make a decision , stick with them or replace .

It's like Babel , his whole time here he divided on whether or not he was good enough , could he up his game, could he fulfill his potential . Well he's been gone a few months now and has anyone even noticed ? . I doubt it and that says it all . I suspect it would be the same if half our squad left .

We just desperatly need a full make over of the squad. We all know it.

When players like Agger and Johnson gets injured it changes a lot of how we play obvs. Soto is shitehouse against pacey players.

I thought Wilson was quite good today actually.

Felt sorry for Suarez, but also Carroll. We have no width, no pace from our wingers and non excistent attacking full backs. He chases lost causes in the air most of the time.

Very true.

There's no balance in the squad, there's too many injury prone players, the bench options are abysmal, there's no width or pace and technically we're poor in key areas.

Roll on the summer.

it's simply a matter of waiting to see what happens in the summer transfer window. the midfield needs a lot of work

Lucas Spearing

At least I saw Lucas win the ball a couple of times but Spearing was barely in the game.

Agreed, roll on the summer. But let's not forget that we were also in for Richards, Young and Adam in Jan. Man City didn't want to sell and don't need the money. Villa held out knowing we would prob be back in the summer and Blackpool were just amateurish dickheads. Had we got those players I'm pretty sure all would have been in the starting 11. As things stand, we got a new strike force still settling in. One has hit the ground running and the other isn't match fit.

Indeed. Tried playing with the big boys, realised they'd blown it, panicked, too late.

Here's some perspective for you:

We were clearly second best to West Brom. West Bromwich Albion.

We play shite football, have a shite squad, are shite to watch, and are shite tactically. We also seem to have spent thirty five million pounds on Peter Crouch with a ponytail.

Perpestive my hole.

So I take it you missed the Sunderland match. Great football, great to watch and great tactically. Jury is still out on Carroll and will be until we get better players around him.

We are inconsistent because we do not have the squad depth to replace players missing from what is effectively our 'first and only team' (Reina, Johnson, Carra, Agger, Kelly, Lucas, Gerrard, Miereles, Kuyt, Carroll, Suarez).

We were getting humiliated by Sunderland until the referee gifted us a penalty.

'Humiliated' is rather hyperbolic.

I thought hyperbole was the order of the day after reading that we were "great tactically" against Sunderland.

Given we didn't grant them a shot on goal until the 80th minute or something, I'd say your 'humiliated' is further from the mark than his saying we were 'great tactically'.

Given our squad we are exactly where we should be; 6th

Not good/strong enough to be above spurs, city, chelsea, arse and manu

Squad strong enough to stay ahead of the rest.

Can't be bothered to pick at kenny's tactics, he has us exactly where I think we should be give the players on our books

Even if we had the King fucking Kong of football tactics in charge of us, we'd still look utter shite at times with the squad we have.

+1. Good post.

Heh, we'd certainly know about it if Babel had done anything since he moved. Though (admittedly according to wiki), he's played 9 scored 0 since.

Great.
