Just what does he do?

All i do is see him sitting in the stands, with the body language of someone who doesn't want to be there.

And if all he's there is for defensive coaching, he should be fucked right off.

He's just as shite a coach as a player.

The only good thing anyone said about him when he played is that he was a good coach.
Now he actually is a coach he appears to be shit at that too. Maybe he's become a good player to make up for it. Give him a game!

I suppose television footage of where he's sitting is the right way to judge a coach.
Well done.

Yeah this is just looking for somebody else to blame. Unless you work with the guy how could you know if hes a good coach or not by watching him sit on a bench?

He was also a cracking defender in his day, his legs had just gone when he got to us.

havnt read the thread but stop looking for people to blame!!! And if you actually watched a half decent game of ball you'd know pellegrinio was a classy defender back in his day. He was said to be one of the players who would develop into a great manager... And it just so happens that he wants to learn his trade from rafa!!it's been. A bad season but don't try and blame mauro for it!!

He was a shit player for us, and this season our defensive performances have been fucking abysmal

So far so good

Bit of an overreaction here to what was essentially quite a lighthearted thread.

For the record I don't think anyone is seriously blaming Pellegrino for this season but to be fair our defence has collapsed. Maybe there's no connection.

Oh and yes he may well have been a decent player in his day. Sadly he was embarrassingly bad for us. Worse than Nicky Tanner. And that's all I care about, sorry.

I was thinkng this the other day sumo. Our defence went down hill when he was brought in to 'help' us develop. Then we fucked him off and got better again, we've brought him back to 'coach' the defence and they've gone to absolute shit.
Common denominator fucking do one Pellibastard!

It's a bit hard to completely dismiss bringing in a new defensive coach & then starting to concede more goals than in any recent season.

Especially when a large percentage of those goals have come from set pieces, which are the EXACT thing that you can influence in training more than anything else through defence coaching.

What I don't get is that whenever the camera pans to the bench, it's always him preparing the subs and looking busy with his clipboard. Where is Sammy?

who knows what goes on behind the scenes as a coach but as a player he was the worst defender I have ever seen and I've seen rigobert song.

Can't remember who said it, but someone told us that Pellegrino told the defence, that if they didn't do as instructed in training, they'd be dropped, which is why Insua is constantly in the side.

His biggest problem was that he was slower than evolution (sorry creationists)

As a defender there have been worse;

Tanner
Slosemi
Insewer
Piechnik
Etc etc

[/quote]To be fair, he can fuck off too. We have a pissweak core of coaches.

Insua isn't slower than Pellegrino.

Didn't Benitez sack loads of other coaches last year too? Probably didn't help matters. And if they all needed paying off then thats another chunk out of the transfer budget.

Not possible. The very act of making that suggestion tears a hole in the space-time continuum.

Our defensive frailties this season make me wonder just how much Sami did/said off the pitch as well as on it.

That's not a bad idea at all

So we can add Pellebastard to the long, long list of people we want to fuck off out of Anfield:

Statler & waldorf
Benitez
Lucarse
Drossena
Insua
Macia
The fitness coach cunt
Plessis
Degen
Voronin

Any more we should ship out pronto?

Im awaiting RAWK to wax lyrical about how Pellegrino keeps our tactics ticking or other lesser knowing fans just cannot see what he offers the club.

Former lambasted poster Hopey made a good point to me look at the staff Shanks surrounded himself with, all went on to be major parts in fututre success and the reasons we are the club we are, Rafa just seems to be surrounding himself with yes men, Paco questioned him and was fucked off.
