Liverpool's first departure ahead of the 2020/21 campaign has been confirmed, with midfielder Pedro Chirivella leaving the reigning European champions to join FC Nantes in France.
On Friday afternoon, Ligue 1 side Nantes confirmed that 23-year-old Spanish midfielder Chirivella would be joining the club on a three-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Liverpool.

Chirivella, who had previously enjoyed loan spells with Go Ahead Eagles and Willem II in the Netherlands, reportedly turned down a five-year contract extension at Anfield in order to secure more game time with Nantes.

Yeah, I believe that. Five years with the reigning World & European champions, days away from being EPL champions for the first time in 30 years versus joining a mid-table Ligue 1 team.

I wish him the best of luck in France. Surely he can do better though?

From what I read he only had 2 solid offers - Rangers & Nantes.

He's made the right decision in moving to France.

One would have thought so however looking at those he's played for and the offers he received (thanks Stevie) then maybe it was the right decision. I don't think he'd have ever made it as a regular here. Leaving now wouldn't have any impact on whether or not he'll receive a medal (he won't) and likely he'll not have left by the time we win the EPL so he'll still get to celebrate it with the club - just not with the city.

Seems like he's been around forever,nshame as had high hopes for him, came from Valencia as a 16 year old with high ambitions.
