Pecking Order

A pretty vital part of any workplace, whether it's a Football Team or a School or Medical Company is the 'pecking order' within a given group, the balance so to speak - in our case, in the squad of first team players.

Who's the leader of the pack in our current crop of players? Who's the one that everyone respects and even fear a little? Who's the one when talking, everyone else is keeping quiet?

A friend of mine mentioned that he was told at his latest visit in Liverpool (the Everton game) that Lallana is being mentioned behind doors as informal leader of some sort? Makes sense in some way, he's obvious a likable lad, but in other ways I'd normally also expect a more 'tough' character in the mix. Is he also a tough lad when need? Or is that Milner? Matip? Lovren? Anyone?

Personally I think there is still a gap here after the loss of especially Carra and Gerrard and I know many in here has also addressed the apparent lack of leaders in the squad so I'd really like to hear your thoughts on the matter here and how important you believe it to be.

We don't have anyone like that. We don't really have any leaders.

I'd hazard a guess that Milner's the one they look up to most, but we have no really big characters like Carra at the moment, and that's a gap we could do with filling. Our results against the other top 6 sides show that we have quality in the squad, but our results against the rest show that we could do with a testicle transplant at times.

I don't know, I'm guessing we the two biggest cliques in the team are the Latin gang, headed by Lucas (+ Coutinho, Firmino and Moreno) and the Brits (Hendo, Lallana, Milner etc). I would guess Milner commands the most respect out of this group. There isn't one obvious leader, like Gerrard, Sergio Ramos or Xabi Alonso.
