I wouldn't say any of those are overrated. Maybe Van Persie at a push.
Both Terry and Carragher are probably not technically the best footballers in the country. However, the importance of Terry to Chelsea and Carra to us is huge, even if the roles do play to their strengths and don't expose their weaknesses.
For me an overrated player is one who people rave about but actually does little. Ryan Babel is overrated by many for example

My vote for them being overated is purely on a footballing stand point, there value to the club is no doubt huge, but people on this forum and liverpool fans in general praise Carragher as the best defender there is, frankly he's not, same with Terry, Man City were offering god knows how much for him, he's really not worth it, not even mentioning what Andy Gray and Sky Sports do to him.
My vote for Van Persie is probably slightly bias, i'm a southern so i often have people tell me about how he's in the same league as Torres, which he isn't.
Good shout on Cech, i'm annoyed i missed him, the Cech hype is retarded and it's only just starting to subside, i'd say similar for Van Der Sar too, but he deserves credit more than Cech. I'm a huge fan of David Silva, but it would be fair to say he's slightly overated.
I don't think Babel himself is overated as much as his "potential" is, i don't think he'll ever be the world beater people think he'll be.
