And yet here we are 3rd in the league, with a top 4 spot in our hands. The league fortunately doesn't begin and end in January. You dick.

A period of 6 weeks in which you don't win any league games usually has some kind of knock-on effect, especially when we went from 2nd to 5th in his absence.

Of course, it's not just the league and, while he was missing, we also got knocked out of both cups and forgot how to score goals.

It's also worth noting that, before this latest injury, we failed to win in over 90% of the matches that he wasn't playing in, with the narrow victory against Stoke being the first Premiership game we have EVER managed to win without Mane available to play.

Which suggests he is quite important.

Sorry, you were talking about dicks. Do carry on.

We're only 3rd because

1) we had a fantastic period where we were actually chasing first and looking good, so we built up a buffer

And

2) city, United and arsenal have tried their best to nobble themselves like we always do. Our luck is just obscene

Our luck is obscene.
Fucking lol.
We've been crippled all season with injuries and players fucking away on international duty.
It's been our best players too and we simply don't have the squad to cover this.
Luck has fuck all got to do with it.

And

Mane came back and we started winning again. Any team would miss their fastest, most dangerous attacking player and best goalscorer.

... I dont get your point at all leo.

We played shit from New year til mid Feb. Yeah we've had bad injuries, yes we've lost key players... But how else do city, United AND arsenal all stay behind us? Because all 3 fuck up badly

Explain how we're not lucky with that

We are currently on 63 points, 66 got you fourth last year, 70 the year before hand, 61 the year before that, all totals which would be reasonable for us to exceed with 6 games left. We aren't where we are because the others fucked up, we're their on merit.

I think that maybe a little harsh mate.
I was looking recently at the normal points total required to make top four and seventy points were usually good enough to secure it and (fingers crossed smiley) we should exceed that.
We haven't had great luck with injuries while Chelsea, similar to Leicester last season had few to worry about.
Maybe without the loss of key players at various times we might have done better points wise, even considerably better.
I think the biggest boost we have had this season has been the lack of European competition (though its not something we want to continue) so unless we recruit significantly and wisely during the summer, I reckon we will once again struggle to exceed this season's relatively modest points total.

Erm because we accumulated enough points when we were playing well and injury free to keep ahead.
And also we are a unbeaten against the top 6 which is huge considering most of them games are 6 pointers for champions league places.
The league is 38 games and luck has fuck all to do with it.
It's not our problem if United drew 10 games at home or City have struggled with consistency.

I never said it was our problem, I said it was lucky that it went our way

Why?
We accumulated more points than them.
How is that obscenely lucky?
Are you being deliberately obtuse?

WE HAD A 6 WEEK PERIOD OF ABJECT SHITE. WE WERE LUCKY DURING THAT PERIOD THAT UNITED, CITY AND ARSENAL WERE ALSO SHITE

We need a striker because Sturridge will be sold and Origi isn't at the level required (yet). I dont think we need a 20 goal striker either. I'm not sure one exists we could realistically get anyway. The perfect striker for our current set up is a Suarez/Tevez type. Someone who offers more than goals. Someone who aggressively leads the line but offers skill and interplay, too. I'm not sure who that is, but it's what we need. I just hope Klopp doesn't fuck it up. Immobile was bloody awful at Dortmund.

We also need another winger because we are over reliant on Manes pace and skill.

I'm not being obtuse it was just a rubbish post that's been shot down by a few others too.
I get some people's cravings for moaning and trying to be miserable about every aspect about the club but don't bring up the whole luck bollix over a 38 game period.

Well to be pedantic, it's over 30 games so far and we were shite for a period that stretched well over a month in both the Premiership and the cups (both of which we got knocked out of).

The point anyway was that we were shite while Mane was out, but we were lucky that those around us also dropped points, so we didn't end up having to chase up too much ground. We're also incredibly thankful that we were brilliant for much of the time before Christmas and we were probably the most entertaining team in the country, but it could have been alot worse after Christmas, had other better equipped sides been at their best.

It wasn't a rubbish post, just as per people jumped on the negative aspect of the post, rather than the actual point. I made a lengthy post about Woodburn, which was more or less completely complimentary, only for someone to rip apart one sentence which was taken completely away from the context of the rest of the post. It's that sort of shite and your response that's as fucking annoying as the people "craving for moaning and trying to be miserable".

I don't know why I bother, I tried bothering to explain it and you just turn into an angry prick as per. Try addressing the post and replying about the actual football and offering something to the forum.

What do you offer to the forum Mark?
Please explain.
Must be the pms you send saying it's fun to wind up other members.

We were crippled with injuries because the squad depth was nowhere near as good as it needed to be, in terms of actual quality.

With European football of some sort for sure next season that needs to change.

That was my point.
We've done very well to accumulate the points we have considering that our squad is not on the same level of the others around us.
Good luck has nothing to do with it.
It's like saying Chelsea were lucky to win the league because everyone else was crap.
It's pure bollix.

What are you going on about? There are plenty of posters on here who go to bother of posting lengthy, considered posts, only to shot down by idiots like you.

Give over.

Give it a rest Leo. It's not the first time you've been warned on here about posting peoples private messages and personal stuff.

Had Coutinho not good injured, we'd have had an IN FORM coutinho to help us while Mane was gone.

He gets injured and has only rounded into form the last few weeks ... so while Mane was gone, we were down to Firmino from our starting 3 ... trying to fit in Origi, Lallana etc ... IF we had two back up players of Firmino's level (or one), we would have done better and probably be in a better position.
