What's the options moving forward.. Tip tappy is nice n all but jees we not arf letting them in..

We leave massive spaces in midfield when teams break against us, I.e. we need a DM. When Hendo was on he did that well alongside Allen, when he went off SG came on and we lost our discipline.

I'm not sure Lucas would make that bigger a difference ... It's getting used to how this system works defensively etc ... It's going to take a few more bumps before it settles ...
 
I'm not sure this system will work defensively well enough to compensate for our lack of goals, given the players we have.

I said this a little while ago. If you capitalize on your dominance it eases pressure off the defense anyway because the oppositions heads drop

I think the goals are coming ... Granted, against average opposition but that's still something ... Let's hope for a nice win against Stoke on Sunday

Why do you think they're coming ? Blind faith ? 5 goals (and conceding two) against a poor Norwich side ?
 
We're also chopping and changing our back 4 a lot so far. We need to get a settled 4 and cut out the simple mistakes.

Stoke on sunday will be a massive test defensivly. They'll kill us on set pieces.

5 goals against YB, 5 goals against Norwich (who cares if they're 'poor'? Goals are goals), 2 goals here. Sahin scores goals, Gerrard scores goals ... I think, and maybe it's optimism more than anything else, that they'll start flowing ...
 
Its easier to sort out the defence than the attacking bit, at least thats what every manager has said these last few years.

Its a concern though. We need to learn when to just kick it the fuck out.
 
Although he is young and still can improve, in the back of my mind Coates always seems to have a mistake in him each game.
 
on the plus side it seems Reina did better and made same good saves, taking Henderson off was a mistake.
 
Someone needs to play as a dedicated DM to help cover them, I'm not sure anyone is, or anyone that's suited to the role. Allen seems to be playing deepest? And he's no ball winning DM.

2 of tonight's goals from them were top drawer, and then a mistake from Coates. It wasn't overly sloppy like normal for them 3, just unlucky, but we seem to be unlucky week in week out at the moment.

Bad shit yeh but our shitty defending is more of a new habit. I thought the first goal was a good goal, I don't really blame Johnson myself. Coates should have done much better obviously for the second and Carragher should have dealt with he initial ball better. We looked fragile at the back though and if we lose Suarez through injury I think we're very much in the shit

Sean we have scored 15 goals in our last 5 games.
And thats with chopping and changing the team each week.
Obviously you take Suarez out the team now we are fucked but you dont need to KEEP saying it because he isnt out the team. We have him.
Stop worrying about what MIGHT happen and feel good about what IS happening.
Sort this fucking hole at the back out and we will fly.

Thought Henderson played well myself. Surprised Rodgers took him off tbh.

Ok but....10 goals were against a shitty Swiss team and a bunch of East Anglians who eat too much cake. Anyway, we've also conceded 9 goals in the same games
