The question was about
why City are having a tougher time - we know that they're not quite at the level they were.
There is naturally an adjustment to having Haaland in the team (I think Alvarez is actually a more natural fit for them) but generally speaking the league, in my opinion, is looking more competitive this season.
You can certainly make the argument that that is not the case due to the fact that we are poor this season, Chelsea are having a bad season, Spurs are perhaps being a bit more Spursy than usual and recent second tier teams such as West Ham and Leicester are having
terrible seasons. However.. if you look across the board, the bad teams are decent / good clubs that are in a bad place rather than out and out fodder like Norwich / Fulham / Sunderland of yesteryear.
- Utd have turned a corner and will improve
- Newcastle are looking very solid and will get better
- Arsenal have built a very good young team
- Brighton and Brentford are very well run clubs that can give most a game on their day
- Spurs have periods of being strong
Going forward Chelsea will find a combination from their pool of 200 players that works, we will hopefully improve and clubs like Villa, Wolves and West Ham have the capability to get back to being strong top 10 teams.
