No we didn't. I'm tired of hearing about problems with "Desire, heart, application" etc. etc. The team knew what we knew. Anyone thinking we'd roll over any team with the available players was an idiot. They probably worried they'd lose, just as anyone else looking at the team did.
The team is shot. The team we put out on paper looked like shit. The subs, even fucking worse. Salah central? He doesn't have it in his locker, and he's on the decline. Firmino playing 3 games on the trot, can't do it. Ruining an indian summer. Carvahlo, not ready. Elliot, meh. Jones? Not good enough. Then you've got good players way out of form like Fabinho, and after fucking years and years, Milner, the ever present.
And what else were we going to put out? The entire attack is ravaged by injury, the midfield is a fucking embarrassment. The ones we bought for their potential are being made to play way too much, and together.
There's no point getting all in a tizzy about it. The die is cast.
