I do think they’ve recruited well - but for a team to finish upper mid-table, with no European games, or pressure to qualify or win anything.

Feels like the margins they work off aren’t as fine as ours - but they are missing a star striker:

I think Potter is a good manager and should get a crack at a top team soon.

Why do we keep assuming we will beat Wolves, the complacency we have shown in general is evident throughout. We have to get back to basics on we do well and forget about those above us for now.

People assumed we'd steamroll Fulham, Utd and Everton. Somewhat understandably, but opposition teams clearly don't fear us anymore. Serious reset of expectations is required now, we need to build confidence with a few wins and clean sheets.

We just need to stay in the mix until the World Cup.

Mo and Diaz will not be in Qatar. Matip, Tsimikas as well. Thiago, Bobby, Konate, Gomez, Elliott, Carvalho and Jones might miss out on selection. That's a lot of players who hopefully won't be dealing with post-World Cup disappointment and fatigue, but Mo and Diaz staying fresh is key.

Ronald is hilarious. Constantly moaning and throwing his hands up in the air if he doesn’t receive a perfect pass to mask his lack of pace, whilst trying a bunch of flicks etc that never come off.

He’s pathetic.

Meanwhile, Utd are counter attacking at home with three DMs on and winning another game they’ve been second best in.

But he earns £500k per week so according to SCM logic that means he should be playing 40% better than DeBruyne on a weekly basis

We might be unique amongst the top teams in having maybe 60% of our first 18 players who either won't go at all or won't really play. It's really only Virgil, Jota and Nunez who are guaranteed starters for world cup teams.

PGMOL have confirmed that VAR was wrong on both the West Ham and Newcastle disallowed goals.

I'd love them to somehow retrospectively change the Chelsea result to a draw. Just for the laugh, can't really happen but it'd be great.

Referees' body PGMOL has effectively accepted controversial VAR decisions made at Chelsea and Newcastle were wrong and will fully co-operate with a Premier League review of the incidents.

The decisions denied Newcastle United and West Ham goals against Crystal Palace and Chelsea, respectively.

Both teams thought they had scored, with the goals confirmed by the on-pitch referee.

But in each instance the goals were disallowed after VAR.

A step in the right direction. Arsenal's goal should also be on there.

The ref and VAR official should be mic'd up so we can hear what they are saying.

We don't need to hear what they're saying, we need them to see what everyone else is seeing.

The Villa Coutinho goal seems to have been forgotten about already?

Nevermind, just City gleaning points via obvious refereeing mistakes again. Lest anyone forget that had the most blatant handball penalty been awarded later on for Everton last season, we’d likely be sitting here as champions.

The Coutinho goal wasn't to do with VAR.

Poor decision from the lino and the players bar Coutinho rightfully stopped play after the ref blew the whistle.

Newcastle 1 win in 6 yet everyone wants to blow smoke up their arse like they're going to be 1 of the big boys.

I've been watching that game & I've been very impressed with Brandon Soppy.....came on at HT and changed the game....playing LB and RB it seems.

Soppy looks to be a smart pick up from Udinese too. Transitional period for Atalanta with the ageing/lost of star players but Gasperini has a good record of bringing through young talents.

Just realised that Albert Riera has gone into management.

Great start after Football ultras storm managerial unveiling of ex-Liverpool star in support of former boss during his unveiling.

[article]Football ultras stormed the press conference unveiling of their new manager this week in support of former Real Madrid, Barcelona and Portsmouth midfielder Robert Prosinecki following his surprise sacking last week.

Chaos ensued when Slovenian outfit NK Olimpija Ljubljana announced the appointment of former Manchester City, Liverpool and Watford defender Albert Riera in his first managerial role.

The dissatisfaction was more to do with the way his predecessor was ousted rather than the arrival of the Spaniard - who was met by their Green Dragon ultras and forced to leave the room.

Fans shouted and pointed at the new boss while praising their former manager as their relatively peaceful protest forced the conference to a premature end.

Prosinecki, who played for Croatia between 1994 and 2002, managed Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina among others before moving to the Stozice Stadium.

Having signed a two-year deal back in March, the 55-year-old left the club on July 1 alongside sporting director Mladen Rudonja following a dispute with owner Adam Delius due to a disagreement over new players.

After the end of his career as a football player, Riera ventured into coaching. The 40-year-old Spaniard has worked as an assistant coach in Turkey's Galatasaray for the past two years.
