Only explanation for no penalty is that Sterling started to go to ground before Lloris touched him. In which case it should have been a second yellow.

Personally I think it's both a dive (and second yellow) and a foul (and second penalty).

Just curious. Does the fact that the ball is clearly going away from goal and most likely out affect the decision to not give a penalty?

I think knocking it so far ahead you're never getting it does come into the decision sometimes

It would presumably play into the decision but not sure it was far enough away that Sterling couldn't get there.

I didn't mean the deflection from Loris. I meant Raheem does knock it out even further right? Even if Loris does not touch Raheem, there was very little chance of Raheem getting to the ball he knocked out. I was wondering if that factors into the decision.

Fucking boss this game. City carve them open over & over, mad defending, but even more mad final pass & shot decisions.

Meanwhile spurs keep very occasionally breaking & city's defence shit themselves when they do.

It's all very entertaining.

Agree. I was thinking to switch to NHL at 5.30 but the way this game exploded I want to see what can happen here. But a City goal will kill it. Can't see this Spurs team having an equalizer in them

Agree with that. If city score I think they'll be much less expansive & spurs won't have the room to break with it, if it stays nil nil then spurs have more chance of scoring for sure.

City are an amazing team but their trademark cutback from wide angle move sometimes is predictable, people say we aren't as attractive as city but we can beat teams with so many styles.

Surely spurs weren’t this bad under poch. City domination
They were worse. This is spurs letting city have the ball, & trying to do what Mourinho sides do best, press just enough to force a mistake. Thing is they're not that good at it, so they're reliant on city making an unforced error, which is rare.

Thing is if he have just ran alongside him & they'd have tangled up & gone down, & doubt the ref would have given it.

Very sloppy defending, much better ways to handle that
