I beg to differ. LFC have had better all-round footballers in midfield but I have never, ever seen a better ball-winner in a Liverpool shirt, not even Souness. If Masher stays on the pitch in Athens LFC win no.6.

Signed Christ.

Not a maestro through was he? He was a great player. A great defensive midfielder. A maestro implies he was an exceptional creative player. He wasn't.

In fairness that's a respectable definition of "maestro", but ultimately for me it's too restrictive. Masher was uniquely good at covering the hard yards and, in the process, liberating others around him to concentrate on attack, so I personally would apply the description to him as well.

Perhaps Keane should form a footballing "Dirty Dozen -1" to test his theories. A team full of grunts, hoofers, cloggers and last chancers with little more than a shit load of aggression, strength and determination to offer - Actually that just sounds like a Wimbledon reboot. Anyway, as a dinosaur I've seen so many beautiful footballing sides crumble under the aggression and savage hunger of that Sunday league approach.

In one-off games, perhaps even a season or two, yes, but clubs which achieve sustained success - we ourselves in the glory days, the Mancs since (until recently :vamp:) - need to play attacking football to do so. During our glory days Leeds, who had some tremendous players and did win one or two things, tried to hack out a dynasty the dirty way and failed.

Twat though he was, for what he said in later life, Brian Clough knew this & tried to get Leeds playing football the right way, but was hounded out of the club by the Neanderthals

Agreed, it brings to mind Keegan v Bremner. I hated so many of those Leeds players but they had the saving grace of a support that hated Utd at least as much as we did.

Totally expected.

At least now there will be a lot less stoppage time.

I don't fucking believe it!

They are relentless

Never a fucking foul and where it was taken from Typical that he was only on because injury to diver

I think it might actually be their year.

The glee in Tyler's voice! Fuck off!

They make us watch to the end every damn time!

Fuck off havw been wank all half

Play was stopped for 5 mins this half bet he only allows 6 whereas if dippers were loosing it would be 8

Has there ever been a luckier team in top flight English football? I genuinely don't know

3 shots on target ffs

Its the only way them scouse bastards have been anywhere near the top this season. Fucking ridiculous the decisions they have benefited from this season. Scandalous!!!

Definitely wouldn’t have been given for us.

Well, except that once when Sterling tripped over himself. But there are plenty of legitimate fouls not given for us to know that was a fluke.

Hate to say it but got a really horrible feeling they are going to win it, feel sick

Milner is a ****!

dippers are certainly not a footballing side !

I was absolutely convinced for a good month that this was the game they would fluff their lines. I’m not liking this one bit.

Henderson will be exchanging shirts with the linesman at full time.

Why? You normally exchange shirts with the opposition, not your team mates!

Been a hard watch all season , decision after decision , luck after luck , cheating refs , cheating linos, cheating players!

arrgg if I didn't like my TV so much I'd punch the fucker

It's quite extraordinary. The influx of (a) money and (b) bloviating juvenile glory-hunters seems to have dragged the bulk of their fanbase right off the deep end.

The Liverpool thread

Yet another scandalous decision that led to a winning goal.
Fabinho not touched on the wing, goes down like he's been hit by a sniper, and from the resulting free kick they score.
12 minutes left to play (with injury time) and not one word on it from the commentators (no surprise Beglin ignoring it!)
It will be wiped from history.
Ian Wright the only one to even touch on it and they've gone to the ad break.
And no surprise Mariner was a disgrace on the 50/50s again

Putrid Club, being guided to a title challenge by some disgraceful referees ( use that term loosely ) , a media that sweeps under the carpet any dodgy decisions

The media piss me off , slate foreign teams for Cheating , simulation etc , but Liverpool darlings do it week in week out and are hailed as magnificent !

Makes me sick ....

It's fucking corrupt, not just luck.

Very suspect all season, to say the least. Dives being awarded, gifts being given in the last minutes of games.

I think we'll struggle Monday.

I fucking despise the cheating bastards.

I’ve a bad feeling about Monday, something just doesn’t feel right after that game tonight.

I can handle a title race; in fact I love it. But what I don't like is a manufactured title race for an international glory hunting audience to keep them interested in the product.

What I also take even greater offense to is the chasing team that have been "enabled" throughout the whole season, taking some moral high ground on how they are doing things "the right way" ®©

Very bad for football all this!!

Next season with var, they will finish in bottom half of the league, seriously

Cheers for this compilation of insanity. These people operate on a totally different frequency to normal human beings. Instead of plastic flags, I hope City put a tin foil hat on each home seat for the Leicester game.

Excellent work compiling that dreamy. Its a collective delusion, quite remarkable that they seem to have lost the ability to actually enjoy what they're watching. As stressful as this is, it's still bloody enjoyable for me.

I could have made one 20 times longer. It’s amazing reading. 😀

You would think Man City fans are deluded, many Man U fans are worse. They watch and comment on Everything Liverpool for the last few games. They would prefer their noisy neighbours to win rather than us.

But some Man U fans, on social media, actually talk some sense. Man City fans seem collectively to be utter joyless loons.
