My standpoint was there was absolutely no point in getting rid of Rafa unless we'd got new owners...Maybe it gave us a stay of execution with Torres and Stevie but little else. Whilst they remain in charge we are fucked as a club. There's no escaping it and no wizadry that any manager could do to alleviate our problems. We've got the same inherent problems with players, their lack of ability and/or application and complete lack of squad depth. There's any so much of that crap that wheeling and dealing can put right - and when we're seeing players of Mascheranos ilk potentially leaving and we're left with Lucas and a 30 year old journeyman then our problems are going to get worse.

I said last season that I was very concerned we would go on a massive downward spiral, it wasn't just Alonso leaving but a 'feeling' around the club before a ball was kicked last season.
Many people said it was silly and that we were too good to do a Newcastle/Leeds, while I agree with that we are not too good to miss out on top 4 again this season and lack of finances continuing to hit us hard, we can easily end up in a similar position to last season and then Torres will leave and Gerrard may well do the same.
The crux of this is the Oct deadline, if G&H stay then we are going to be in a horrible position. As it stands I'm not confident we will be taken over by anyone who will be looking to help the club even if them two did leave.
