That's him and Minamino both with daft Korean dictator-style haircuts. Is this a fashion in Japan generally or just among football players?

East Asian hair is pretty straight, and hard to style. If you don't do anything to keep it up, it just flops down like this after a while.

[article]Olympique de Marseille have also been in action, bringing in central defender Chancel Mbemba. The 27-year-old Congolese international (64 caps), has signed for three seasons on a free transfer, Marseille announced on Friday evening. The move follows the signing of 28-year-old French defender Samuel Gigot from Spartak Moscow and 19-year-old Isaak Toure from AC Le Havre.[/article]

[article]Marseille have signed full-back Jonathan Clauss from RC Lens for €7.5m and goalkeeper Ruben Blanco on a season-long loan from Celta Vigo with an option to buy.[/article]

Dybala to Roma is an interesting one, was expecting him to sign for Napoli. Dunno what's going on there, they have just lost 4 key players but don't look like signing anyone half decent

Looks like a coup for Bayern. Probably explains the signing of 17 yr old Mathys Tel.

[article]FC Bayern landed another transfer coup this summer. According to consistent media reports, Dortmund chief scout Markus Pilawa is switching from league rivals BVB to the German record champions.

BVB announced on Wednesday that Pilawa was released with immediate effect. Reason: The 44-year-old has announced that he will leave the black and yellow in the direction of a direct competitor.

As “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg reports, Pilawa is moving to Bayern Munich and will be the new chief scout for Munich. According to Plettenberg, the change is already sealed. Pilawa is supposed to work for the German record champions from September 1st. “SPORT1” and “kicker” have confirmed the report from the pay TV broadcaster.

Born in Bochum, he has worked for BVB since 2012 and took over as chief scout at the beginning of 2017. Pilawa played a key role in Dortmund having repeatedly found top talents such as Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham in recent years.

What is curious is that Pilawa succeeds Laurent Busser, who only switched from Bayern Munich to Borussia Dortmund in June.[/article]

You didn't need to be a genius to scout Haaland, Sancho and Jude. Everyone knew who they were.

Haaland perhaps, because of his exploits with RB Salzburg but Sancho and Bellingham were both signed as 17 yr olds - one didn't play a single game for Man City first team while the other only had 1 season of Championship football (and based on that article, Bellingham was watched since he was 14). Others like Reyna, Pulisic, Weigl, and Isak were all 19 or below too, when signed.

[article]Real Balompedica Linense have signed former Liverpool and Manchester City striker Bobby Duncan.

Duncan, who is a cousin of Reds legend Steven Gerrard, is now 21 and has penned a four year deal with the Spanish outfit.

Real Balompedica Linense, which play in the Tercera Division, confirmed his arrival, saying: "Real Balompédica Linense is pleased to announce the signing of British midfielder Bobby Duncan until 2025.

"The new and talented attacker is a footballer with great projection, with good individual technical quality, offensive combination capacity and final pass, precision with his left foot and a goalscorer."

The striker played under Wayne Rooney at Derby County for the last two seasons but made just one appearance.

He also struggled in his year at Fiorentina, failing to break into the first-team and only scoring four goals in 12 games for the under-19s.

Fuck me we lost a gem there.

I knew we wouldn’t miss him, unbelievable how average he was yet everyone seemed to love him.

Just shows how good Klopp is when he can’t even cut it in the French league.
