EX-NEWCASTLE United Premier League star Obafemi Martins was constantly broke despite earning £75,000 a week, a court heard yesterday.
The ex-Newcastle United striker, 25, drew out £40,000 in cash from his bank each weekend.
But he would have to go back to draw out another £25,000 every Monday morning and struggled through the rest of the week, it was claimed.
He was so broke he brought in a company, NVA Management Ltd, to manage his finances.
The firm arranged a £2million image rights deal and sponsorship from Pepsi and Nike, the High Court in London was told.
But it is now suing Martins for £300,000 it claims he owes.
Lawyer Robert Temmink said Martins, who joined Newcastle for £10million in 2006, was constantly overdrawn.
The Nigeria forward, who moved to German club Wolfsburg for £9m when Newcastle were relegated last summer, is contesting the claim.
The case continues.
Some people, eh? :🙂
