• Suarez is weird and that game is him in a nutshell. Abused by the opposition support, misses a simple chance, scores a sublime hat trick.
• Sahin is sexy in looks and play. I really hope we keep him. I'm quietly confident he'll want to stay.
• As I said in the match thread, Wisdom to Suso to Allen to Sterling. Fucking exciting to see, isn't it? Especially considering last year it would've been Enrique to Henderson to Adam to Downing... Back to Enrique.
• Which leads me to my next point, Rodgers really deserves credit for turning this team around in regards to personal. Selling the dross, smart and cheap acquisitions and playing youth. Pleasing.

Fantastic display, neat passing, and a cutting edge. 5 goals!!

Need to cut out the individual errors at the back tho.

Rodgers deserves credit and the players are responding.

If we don't cut out the errors, days like today will be few and far between. Glad we won, glad we scored 5 but disappointed as well.

I said we would give someone a thumping in the next few games, glad it came this quickly....We still look defensively weak, now not sure if that is becuase we don't have someone defensive minded in midfield or because of how we are playing but we need to watch this.

We were always going to concede goals playing this style of football. The pressure on the defence is greater, and the players need to become accustomed to this and cut out the individual errors.

Delighted with the performance and result.

Our midfield battered theres and when Suarez is as clinical as that he's unstoppable because the rest of his game is top class.

We just need to cut out the shitty lapses in concentration and tighten up. Reina was again a liability today, hes really pissing me off now.

Overall though, brilliant stuff.

So the liability comment must also apply to Skrtel?

He's made a few bad mistakes this season but unlike with Pepe, every time the ball comes near him i don't fear the worst.

Reina's handling, decision making, kicking and positioning has been absolutely dreadful.

Pepe demonstrated plenty of reasons why he's a good keeper in this game (and so did Skrtel with his defending). Both made individual mistakes that cost us 2 goals today and points in previous games.

"Absolutely dreadful" and "liability" are extreme comments but you do like your hyperbolic statements don't you.

Reina's been off form for a season and a bit now. This is no knee-jerk reaction to a bad mistake and an unconvincing display.

He looks shot and people can blindly defend him all they want but his poor level of performances speak for themselves. He needs replacing.

Yes he has had poor seasons when compared to his ability. But Alonso also had 2 poor seasons and look at the fawning over him now that he's gone.

He's just had a poor season or two by any keeper's standards.

Yeah Alonso had a poor spell but nowhere the extent of Reina's now and Alonso was hit by injury problems.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this topic but you're a bit out of order describing my posts as hyperbolic statements just because you disagree with them but anyway.

Disagree with you 😉

Magnificent performance. I haven't been this excited by a Liverpool squad in a very long time. I'm glad my wife cancelled my year off from the game.

I don't want to sound like a naysayer here, but while we played well and scored 5 goals, against better opposition we may not have won that game. We were shite at the back throughout, but we were lucky they were even worse in defence.

On the bright side, though, we played lovely football at times, scored some lovely goals, took the majority of our chances for a change and kept the ball well. Suso and Wisdom were also bright spots as well. And I actually don't think Allen gave the ball away once.

Good performance, but as always, room for improvement. Any comments from Rodgers?

Jesus. Christ.

Try not to be too depressed.

To be fair to pepe he made two blinding saves early on and the shot was hit hard and swerved... having said that it was his distribution which caused the shot so...

As for the defence it is much harder for them now they are told specically to keep it short and not hoof.

Just watched his interview, says we did well, mentioned Suraez and the penalty and his small negative were the 2 goals. He said the negative was something for the future though.

Guess the defenders will be staying back for more homework.

Cheers. Was hoping he'd bring up the penalty shout. That was at a crucial time, and fucking blindingly obvious, they had a chance moments after and if they scored it, it would have been 1-1 and potentially a much different game. There's quite clearly a witch hunt against Suarez amongst the officials. Loved the fans chanting though.

Apologies , i missed the game as got too caught up celebrating the Swannie's win . So how did wisdom and Suso do ?
