Can someone shorten this title please. It's pissing me off!
I suspect we're getting het up over very little here. H and G have something to sell and are just trying to talk it up, as anyone would. Martin Broughton and Barcap wouldn't have come in on this (and publicly at that), nor would the owners be prepared to pay them the stonking great fees they'll be charging, if the idea of selling weren't a very serious one.

Do you think it will have a real effect at this point?
To me it's simply a bit of media posturing that can't make much difference. Everyone knows they're being forced to sell rather than having chosen to sell from a position of strength.

Well so long as this is bluster, and we don't have these bastards rejecting offers that don't meet this sort of ridiculous estimation.
Broughton talked about finding owners that had the capability of taking us to the next level, but how do we know that's true? If these bastards, and lets face it, the banks, have anything to do with it, it will be a case of highest bid wins.

Wouldn't disagree, but I think there's more to it besides. Whoever buys the club will want to make money from it. Given the price they'll be charged, the only way they will make money on the deal is indeed by taking LFC to the next level.
