From Bold.dk;

Superleague-side Esbjerg and Liverpool FC has agreed upon a fee that'll see the talented youngster Nicolaj Køhlert sign a three-year contract later today.

There will be an option on yet another year.

- Everything is in order. The club's has reached an agreement and Nikolaj is also in agreement with Liverpool. He'll have the obligatory medical and if there's no complications he'll sign later today, reveals Køhlert's agent Allan Nielsen (the former Spurs-player if anyone cares).

The midfielder will start at the Academy and will then eventually be moved up to the Reserves.

FYI I know nothing of the lad but he's probably the next Pele.

Or Plessis.

I think I saw an interview with this lad a few months back, his Esbjerg coaches seemed to think he could go all the way to the top.
There were some footage of him from a couple of matches, and he looked very good.

Here's hoping he'll develop into a very good player.

So thats the 5th prospect we've signed this year;

Sama

Mavinga

Køhlert

King

Malhoney

Yep, he'll be ace. And sold off to another team within a few years, without even a sniff of the 1st team.

Plus the Hungarians, one of whom one of whom scored a lovely goal in the U18s game the other day, as did King BTW.

if rafa uncovers the next gerrard, fowler, carra then pouring millions upon millions upon millions into the acadamy will have been worth it, currently as it stands it looks like a waste money.

We're doing the right thing though. With this crazy transfer market and owners with deep pockets, finding young talent is the only way forward.
New and improved structure of the acadamy, new prospects and staff, I think we're moving in the right direction.

Plus a lot of these youngsters will count as "home grown" for the purposes of the CL squad / 6+5

If it ever goes ahead.
Rafa seems to be banking on it.

He has signed btw.

I was waiting until it was confirmed before I allowed myself to get properly excited. It seemed too good to be true.

This would be a splendid time to bring out the flag one might suggest.

*anticipates the great sight of a mediocre-sized flag waving in the wind*
