Fresh from being banned for 3 European games after lashing out at the referee after PSG defeat to Man UTD in the Champions League on Twitter, he is almost certainly going to face action from the french FA after appearing to lash out and hit a fan after PSG loss to Rennais in the Coupe de France final..

There is something special about seeing Oil Cheats losing important cup games, it has to be said..

From what I can make out the fan was a ballbag who was recording himself insulting every PSG player as they ascended the stairs to collect whatever the losing side collects. Neymar was the only one to react like that though.

All this is the result of one simple fact, namely (neymly?) he never wanted to leave Spain and go there in the first place I'm actually surprised the move's lasted this long.

Oh, he really wanted to go. That much was obvious. Obviously he realizes now how stupid a mistake he made by forcing a move away from playing alongside Messi and Suarez.

How certain are you of that first bit? Genuine question, 'coz at the time it looked to me very much as tho' it was Barca who were after the crazy fee rather than the player who wanted out.

Just googled it and he did indeed. I stand corrected. Can't help wondering how much of a part his agent played in the whole thing given how things have gone for the player in Paris, but fair go.

I think Neymar was under a lot of pressure to leave in order to win Balon D'Or.

Terrible decision though.

It was probably a conversation that revolves around many millions of dollars being placed in the Cayman Islands.

Yeah I remember him citing this as one of the reasons why he left. Totally ludicrous and epitomises the modern-day footballer when he leaves a team winning everything in order to win some ultimately irrelevant individual accolade. Plus, he'll never win it in that league, nor while Messi and Ronaldo are still playing. He'll probably never win it anyway because he's not that good.

In fact, the irony is quite delicious that the probable next winner of the thing plays alongside him. Mbappe.
