Guess Saturday night shenanigans means the hacks couldn't be bothered writing any new rumours or lies and there is little innuendo to report either.
Roy Hodgson is happy to see Liverpool linked with Joe Cole, but insists he has not held talks over a deal for the midfielder.
Cole is looking for a new club after being released by Chelsea and he has attracted interest from London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.
However, bookmakers have suspended betting on which club Cole will join next season amid rumours the England international is bound for Anfield.
Reds boss Hodgson has not spoken to the 28-year-old recently and refused to expand on rumours he could become a Liverpool player.
"I'm not a betting man so that doesn't actually play a big part that betting is suspended," Hodgson told Sky Sports News.
"I don't even know enough about betting to know what that means.
"As far as I know, Joe Cole is still a player looking for a club.
"I know we've been connected with him, and it's good to know we're connected with players of that quality, but I don't have anything to report on the subject.
"I haven't had any discussions with him, but I had a brief chat a while back.
"If you want to know about transfer targets, and how things are progressing, you'll have to ask (managing director) Christian Purslow because he's the man looking after those discussions, not me."
Hodgson also revealed he met with Liverpool co-owner George Gillett prior to the club's opening pre-season friendly against Al-Hilal in Austria being postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
He added: "It was nice to meet him, of course. I don't know him very well, but it was nice to speak to him.
"It was good of him to come to the game. It's a pity that, I'm sure, like the rest of us he would have liked to have seen Liverpool play."

Roy Hodgson could return to his old club Fulham and sign Paul Konchesky with Liverpool currently without a recognized left-back.
The 29-year-old was a regular for Hodgson's Fulham side last season, playing 39 games to help them reach the Europa League final. However, the England international has a year left on his contract and is thought to be keen to cash in on a move at this stage of his career.
Fulham reportedly turned down a £1.5million bid from Birmingham City several weeks ago and Blues boss Alex McLeish could increase his offer for the left-back.
Liverpool are set to begin the season without a recognized left-back unless they make a signing in the coming month. Brazilian Fabio Aurelio has left the club and Argentinian youngster Emiliano Insua is also set to leave Anfield, with a £5million move to Fiorentina likely to be completed this week.

Liverpool are pondering a bid for Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen, according to reports.
The Danish international is, like many of his Turin teammates, available for transfer at the right price.
According to whispers, the Premiership outfit are considering a move for the player at the request of new boss Roy Hodgson.
Juventus are ready to sell one from Poulsen, Momo Sissoko and Felipe Melo after the outfit failed to qualify for the Champions League next season.

The News of the Screws reports that Hodgson is prepared to push the boat out to sign Cole, which would send a statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League. Apparently, Cole will be offered a massive £4.7million-a-year deal, equivalent to a £90,000 three-year contract in order to become Hodgson's first major signing.
Liverpool's England contingent, Steven Gerrard , Jamie Carragher and Glen Johnson, return to training at the end of the week and Hodgson would be delighted if their World Cup team-mate Cole were to join them.

Werder Bremen have admitted that they could yet sell Mesut Oezil this summer, despite previously ruling out any transfer.
Clubs such as Real Madrid, Chelsea and Juventus are all closely monitoring the situation of playmaker, following his superb performances for Germany at the 2010 World Cup.
The Bundesliga outfit had made it clear that they were determined to hold on to their star player, by stating that Oezil was not for sale at any price. However, general director Klaus Allofs has now seemingly had second thoughts, revealing that the 21-year-old could leave the Hanseaten after all.
"We're keen to hold on to Mesut for a couple more seasons and we want him to sign a new deal with us," Allofs was quoted as saying by Bild.
"However, if that turns out to be impossible, we might have to look at other solutions."
Oezil's current contract with Werder runs until June 2011, but the Bundesliga outfit could cash in on the gifted midfielder this summer if an offer in the region of £17 million comes in.

Chelsea have ruled out a move for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres due to a surplus of strikers, according to manager Carlo Ancelotti.
He said: "I don't think we need any other strikers. Nothing has changed, because in the next few days Drogba, Anelka and Kalou will return - and we have Sturridge."
