Balotelli is quick, and has talent, but he's a fucking knobhead
Same attributes as Mascher then apparently

Mascher? Quick?
Yes

Balotelli is probably one of the biggest talents in football, the lad has everything. Pace, power, extreme physical attributes and can play in a number of attacking positions. Except he's a bit mental..

He plays for Inter, but showed up at an AC Milan game wearing a AC Milan shirt.. It didn't go down to well with the Inter fans.

City and Utd are apperantly willing to offer around 30 mill £ for him.
Did he really do that?

I'd be really surprised if they offered us Balotelli in part-exchange for Mascher. I'd also be surprised if he wanted to sign for us. The article sounds like made-up bollocks to me.

I wonder. Talented as he is, his intermittent antics make him practically the identikit of someone whose approach would not impress Rafa.

Whats Balotelli like?
With the right guidance he could become a World class player.
So as a 19 year old under Rafas guidance he'd pretty much want to get out of Inter before he's turned into a goalkeeper!

If Bellamy is available for 6M then I think we should be all over him like a cheap suit.

He should never have been sold in the first place.

Balotelli in exchange for Mascherano
Ever Banega for around £10 million
Jovanovic on a free
and
Jonjo Shelvey for however much we paid £1 or 2 million?
Torres and Gerrard staying.
Would people be happy if that was our summer dealings?

That's ridiculous.

I see City linked to him today. 30million euro. Is he worth that?

If this Italian striker is as good as reports suggest then being a bit of a tosspot shouldn't be held against him.
Phil Neal was/is a tosspot and he did well for us on the field and, more pertinently, the same can be said of Mascherano.
Yes, obviously, but it isn't going to happen
If that exchange offer is true (which it isnt), that list is possible.

Im trying to be optimistic, Benitez is gone!!!

Well, there are tosspots and tosspots, to coin a phrase. The point about Balotelli is that his tosspottery HAS spilled over into his game. He is admittedly still very young, but I don't think we can afford to take this kind of risk. If we were flying and had other reliable options available things might be different, but we aren't in a position to afford that kind of luxury IMHO.

No.

Swapping our £30m rated CM for a unproven striker would be madness!

We need to take the cash and use it to buy 3 players.

Banega fills the Mascherano void and we bolster our attacking line.

I don't like the idea personally mate. It would be a huge gamble to take on a unproven youngster.

IMO We need 2 CM, a Left back, left winger and a back up striker.

The Mascher money could fill 3 of those slots with signings like Figueroa, Banega and Defour.

It was strictly hypothetical like, dont have a clue about Balotelli except he seems to be a nutter.

Id like Defour and Banega but that would give us 6 CMs.

No it wouldn't, Masher's leaving, Lucas is shit, and Aquilani is a joke
Well regardless of opinion we would still have 6 CMs if we signed Banega and Defour. I think Aquilani will prove you wrong this season Bren.

We shall see. Personally, I think the fact that he is an injury-prone shithouse who can't tackle or defend might mean that he isn't really suited to playing in midfield in the Premiership

God knows we need a player who keeps his head up, plays forward, can pass and create, and help dictate our tempo, but I remain unconvinced that Purple is that player

I agree that he is not very useful in the tackle etc, but I do think he will help creatively. He showed glimpses of excellent attacking play in his cameos last season, I suppose we will see how injury prone he is now the new Oz medicine man has called him 100% fit.

Bremen are obviously ready to sell. He's got one year left on his contract so why aren't we stealing a march and putting a significant bid now. We'd most probably end up outbid, but I'd love for us to have a go....

Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs accepts that Mesut Ozil is likely to be hot property this summer.

The 21-year-old playmaker shone for Germany at this summer's World Cup, bringing him to the attention of a global audience.

A collection of assured and mature performances earned him a host of new admirers, with some of Europe's top clubs believed to be among those to have sat up and taken notice.

The likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United are reported to be weighing up approaches to Bremen for their prized asset, aware that Ozil has the potential to be a world-class performer for years to come.

Bremen are, understandably, reluctant to do business, but appreciate that their hand may be forced.

Policy

Ozil has just one year left to run on his current contract at the Weserstadion and Allofs admits he may be forced to sell now rather than risk losing a top talent for nothing next summer.

"I can already think that we will have offers in the next few weeks or just before the transfer deadline from a number of clubs," he said.

"If something concrete comes, we have a duty to talk to Mesut and his advisors and to see what they want. We will not change our policy. We cannot afford it."

Bremen have put fresh terms to Ozil but are making little headway in their efforts to tie him down on a long-term deal.

Ozil is pure class, but unfortunately would take up too much of our transfer kitty. We literally can't afford to splash out on just one player the kind of fee Bremen would (quite justifiably) want for him.
