Nat off

Good luck to him. Should have played more last season, great lad and a fantastic servant.

I'd have preferred to keep him as fourth choice but he deserves to become a regular first teamer somewhere. Good luck big Nat.

If those 4 that are speculated to leave, leave. The club will see about £30m ish saved in wages.

Will never understand how he didn’t get more game time after his heroics that got us into the CL

I think two things played against him - 1) he's probably our slowest CB, which means that high line would have hurt him more than the others 2) Klopp thought he was an emergency back up CB - and that is what stuck.

It's a shame really, because he is a good defender but his career has stood still for a few years and he probably does need a move. Good luck to him.

26 with about 50ish senior appearances.

I guess it's not as uncommon for goalkeepers but seems like such a waste for an outfield player.

I distinctly remember playing a high line with Nat and every man and his dog waiting for him to get caught out due to lack of pace and it never happened.

I would rather sell Gomez than Nats but Klopp rates Gomez.
I still have flash backs of Gomez and Trent trying to defend, a 2 vs 1 situation and both looked clueless as what to do next.
With both Fabs going, and now Nats, we are left with injury prone players in the CB role.

I guess that's why we're looking at Colwill, but since that's never gonna happen we could be in the shit unless by some miracle Konate, Matip and Gomez stay fit for the entire season.

We're looking at Colwill as both a long term successor to Van Dijk and someone who can play the LCB role when Trent does his hybrid RB/DM move. Robbo and Kostas don't quite fit in that formation. I agree unless some miracle happens we need to replace Gomez; Konate can cover the RB/CB space when Trent steps forward, and maybe the view is that Gomez can deputise for him. I don't think Matip can do that role. Maybe whoever we want to cover for Konate isn't available yet. Or maybe we just don't want to sign that many players in one summer. But anyway, the Gomez/Colwill situations are two different things.

Pretty much. The issue is, Konate will get injured, and Klopp's faith in Gomez usually gets broken in a short space of time, meaning he reverts to Matip who's more or less finished.

I like Nat - wanted him to get a shot near Virgil before Konate came on board ... but he got caught out a few times, quite a few times when we were playing better teams.
Against smaller teams, we could have you, or me and we'd be ok.
