Before we start this is just what I am hearing from a number of sources and might not be 100% true.

It is rumoured that Liverpool and Man City have agreed a fee with Atletico Madrid for Aguero. Personal terms have been put forward by Liverpool and Man City and it is now up to the player to decide where he is going by the end of the week.

Is he in it for the money or the football only time will tell.

Surely not?
To good to be true

In fairness, he can get both at city

But what about Downing, how would Suarez, Carroll and Aguero fit into a team with Downing.

Just googled my recently born daughters birth day to see does she share it with any one famous (as you do!)
Turns out she shares it with one Sergio Aguero!
Me thinks this is an omen.

Well whilst I doubt we'll get him (he'll go for CL footy. & more cash at City, understandably), we do have the type of money to pay the fee, so I'd not be surprised if we went for him.

so if we are in for aguero but dont get him does that mean we'll still spunk loadsa money on a striker?

I know you all hate me for saying these things but Aguero's not coming either. Any you know what? I love disappointing you (evil snigger)

As for a left back, and a centre half, can't see it in immediate future. Dead wood to shift, first

Not necessarily. Kenny has been given a rough figure he has available to spend, which he's nowhere near meeting yet, but wages is the big problem.

That wage bill needs to be reduced regardless. Now he has been told he can use some of the remainder of the budget to pay for wages should player X demand a figure destroying the wage level they need to get to, but if he doesn't opt for that the remainder of the budget will be left towards future transfers, it will not be taken from him.

Read somewhere that there are two transfer bugdets, one for youth and for the first team. Have you heard that Jon?

Oh, and I wouldnt listen to much to Tony Evans. Wrong Tony to follow in the Times.

Eh? Our wage bill is massively bloated , he's just stating the obvious and glazing it with his opinion. We do need to sack some players off the wage bill sharpish and you'd imagine wed need to do so before adding further to it..

Exactly, it fits in perfectly with what the only ITKs to have got anything right have been saying.

Its true that we need to get rid of some shite, but I still think hes talking bollox.
Why were we bidding for the likes of Clichy and Jones earlier in the transfer window if we needed to get rid of players first?

I don't know the answer to that mate, none of us do.

I'd suggest though that they were possibly our first choice we'd go all out for, we didn't get them and therefore are possibly reassessing targets and the wage bill, rather than doing as we have in recent years and bombing it in for poor substitutes?

Whilst still chasing our first choices in other others of the pitch, I.E Adam and Downing.

Cos then we'd have held off on signing Doni, or Downing, or Henderson until we'd have reduced the wage bill. Simple concept really.

We started off with a wage bill that was too high, & needed to reduce it, but bring in new faces. So the owners let Kenny go for a few players whilst trying to shift some. We've gotten rid of 2, but 6 in.

Now the owners have said we need to shift a few more players so we don't run the risk of being stuck with a wage bill that's still to high. Once we've done that we can buy a couple more.

I doubt anyone has a clue as to what we have left to spend or not as the case may be.
[/quote]
I'd go with that as well mate and we've heard nothing from ITK's to suggest otherwise so far.

Never the less, it only takes a bit of common sense to determine the most likely course of action RE: our wage bill.

My thinking (probably wishful) would be that certain funds would have been earmarked for these positions so its bound to still be there. Granted we overspent a bit on Downing (or did we) but its not going to have affected our budget that much.

Yeah i can understand that mate and it seems to make sense.

I guess it's just a case of wait and see.
