If we keep gifting team goals, we could get embarrassed in the CL group.

RBS are no mugs and pose arguably just a tough a test.

Something was off today but I thought we played ok until they scored.
Several key moments were the final touch let us down.
They’re a good side and one of the best home teams in Europe.
Ah well, onwards and upwards.

Not a penalty though, and yet again VAR lets us down. Its shite.

Let's be honest - we've not been great this year in any of our games.
We've had some great periods, and that's normally enough to end games - which is all we aspire too I think (we aren't looking to win games 5/6-0 anymore).
This is the first team where we just weren't clinical enough when we were on top, and we were punished.
Penalty? Not in my book but it is what it is.
Beat Chelsea and we'll be ok.

2 supporters assaulted in a bar few hours before the same.

I know it's common these days for away supporters in europe, but their a bunch of nasty fucking wankers...had problems there last year too with fans being
jumped in bars by group of cowards.

Really hope this is the last time we face them for a long time.

I'm a bit disgusted to be half Italian times like these....I hope I get tickets for home game because if they start any kind of trouble...I'll be there with my big dick out ready to scar them mother fuckers.

Bad night, looked leggy at times, poor decision making upfront, no one quite at the races and we're stuck in that no-mans land of us not having enough quality in reserve, the manager not trusting much of what we have in reserve and it occasionally taking it's toll on the regular 14 or so players.

Agree with much of that, but actually thought we had enough quality on the bench to do something earlier about it changing the way we were going through the various transitions, it was a bit slow sometimes, think Ox, or having Shaq play some role would have helped. Did not think Firmino was that great tonight, looked very tired at times. But in Klopp's defence - he started it in the tried and trusted European away - leg style, can I understand this especially when you consider who the oppositions manager is.

That said - just a few notes, we lost to the last season and still won the competition, but actually played better in tonight's game. So hoping this means something...

Also can I just say that I thought the CL group stage was a kind of release for our players, where they could draw, and even lose games and get away with it so to speak. Unlike the PL where we knew we had to win nearly every game to fucking keep up or ahead of City - so losing a game in the CL where we know it does not mean elimination kind feels like a safe area for our players take a shit/dump. Just hope we can win at least one away game in the group stages this season.

Missed this but did we play for the 0-0 and fail again?

Not really, You could say we set up that way with the line up.... you never want to see 3 DM's starting a game do you?

But when the whistle blew it was fairly even, as someone else said...defences came out on top.

Anyway. We played ok tonight. I’d actually say neither team deserved to win that.

Let’s not worry too much, it’s the toughest game out the way and we will get through this group easy, it’s nothing like last season.

At least the forum will be busier this week after a defeat. It’s been a while.

Pat, you know I love but but DONT BE FUCKING SILLY. Anticipated the tackle and dived over his fucking leg!

Ha. It looked clumsy and contact for me. I can also see why some are up in arms about it.

We’ll still top the group. Would have been nice to win but at the moment league wins are more important.

Callejon made a meal out of it but I agree, I also think it was a pen. Robbo stuck a leg out and missed the ball. Where is Callejon supposed to go, jump over Robbo's leg? It wasn't a trip but he kinda impeded him.

We lost hopefully it gives us a kick up the backside. Fair dues to Ancelotti who has managed to frustrate us more than most teams. If Klopp does retire in 3 years, I would not mind seeing Ancelotti at the helm.

It wasn't a pen. But I can see why the ref was fooled. Robbo stick out his foot but pull it back and the attacker try to hit the foot on his way down, But here he doesn't even manage to make Contact. Actually United used to be the experts (young especially) in kicking a defenders foot and go down.

Pretty much my view. Very soft but it’s a pen all the same.

Thought we played well and Klopp was clearly going for a win so we had got three points in the bag from our toughest game of the group so we could have rotated team a bit in later stages. Now we'll have to go full throttle to make sure we get 12 points from Genk and Salzburg. Annoying. Never a pen (WTF is VAR for exactly?), good game from Adrian, Unlucky not to score – just final killer moment lacking.
Wouldn't be surprised if we end up having to beat Napoli by two clear goals to win the group. But winning the group not that much different from finishing second really and a loss might actually do us some good.
