Mr. Klopp goes to America

Klopp would be right up there with Messi for star appeal and the US of the national team could even him even broader appeal. Plus he already has the teeth to transition to US seamlessly.

- Because Nagelsman has the gig for the world cup?
- Because I'm guessing, Kloppo, as a man who values' "new experiences" would love this
- He'd also be a cultural fit here with all his emotional, self help motivational approaches
- he'd love America for a limited spell.
- They are hosts of the world cup
- He takes sleeping giant teams and makes them amazing.
- Lowe expectations, part time gig as opposed to german "high expectations"

BUT
- his wife might say "But we were on a break"!

A friend wrote this.. the US Soccer Federation is super dysfunctional, like most federations are. Dominated by a clique of NY/NJ 1990's USMNT figures. "Sorry, there's a very small circle of guys for this job, most of them are from central or South America. Guys that will tolerate the bullshit from US Soccer and it's unresolved systemic problems (which are likely permanent) unrealistic expectations, a squad of pampered, out of game shape players, a wildly incomplete extended roster, and the US media which has no idea how anything works. Dream job? Most won't touch it with a pole, it's a big ask."

They'll probably bring back Bruce Arena, their version of Sam Allardyce.
He's their go to.

Apparently Icelandic managers are also prepared to deal with this sort of shite

I could be wrong but in a recent episode of ESPN they mentioned the current manager was only paid 10% of what Klopp was being paid at Liverpool due to their salary cap or something.

Yes, AND whatever they pay Klopp or whomever, they ALSO have to pay the same wage to the Female Team manager. So it's a double cost due to pay equity rules. 🤣

Oh yeah they missed the world cup right? Well they won the gold cup though?

Yes, they missed qualifying for the World Cup due to an inexplicable loss to Trinidad & Tobago, if I recall. They (or Mexico) win the Gold Cup every time; debate as to whether it should even be considered a major tournament, even though it's our version of the Euros or Copa.

If Klopp returns he will go to Spain or Italy. He will want to be at the top table.

Does anyone know what level Italian/Spanish he has?

The dog shagger took a year out and learnt German before taking the Bayern easy street job.

I wonder about the likelihood of Klopp taking any national team manager's job TBH. He seems to thrive on building working relationships with and between others, which he'd only get to do intermittently if he were in charge of a national team.
