I'm pretty sure that the Mancs have him already lined up to replace Ferguson at the end of this season.

And I think that is why they have left the £80m Ronaldo money for him to rebuild the squad when he comes in.
I agree with this.
I don't.
Well the 80M being put on the shelf bit is a bit dubious but I think there is far more chance that he will be at ManU than us
They did spend 15mill of that on Valentia didnt they?.

Pat barclay (who did the interview in todays times) mentions a club like newcastle could hold some appeal for him ???

Well, sad as it may seem, we probably *are* 'a club like Newcastle'.

Yes. Oh, the Fairs Cup - such a sweet memory.

I'm sorry Bunny, but that has to be your worst ever post.

*frownage*

Don't blame the Bunnyman. He's been through a lot lately. We should all support him furry much.

Oh come on, I'm not saying we're at the same level as them. But what that phrase implies is that Mourinho wants to be a hero - that he wants the odds stacked against him so he can triumph over adversity and in the process make himself a legend in the eyes of passionate supporters desperate for a return to the glory years. Yes, Newcastle's glory years are a lot further in the past than ours, and were never that glorious in the first place, but you can't deny there are some similarities in the broad outline.

Clearly, if Newcastle are a point of comparison, then he's not talking about Man Utd.

He could be talking about several clubs, who fucking cares?

If he isn't given some money to spend on bringing some new players in, he won't come in a million years

And I think he'd want some boardroom stability too

The media want Mourinho back in the Premiership, and he knows it, so he's got as many willing mouthpieces to blow his trumpet as he needs

And let's not forget he can be mendacious and loves a tease, which was evident when he was at Porto, tipping the wink at Liverpool en route to Chelsea

So would you him over rafa?

I'll be surprised if he goes to Old Toilet. Whoever follows Ferguson will be on an absolute knife-edge, especially if the old b@stard sticks around on the board or whatever. Mourinho's stratospheric level of self-infatuation might just persuade him to go for the job, but - whatever else can be said about him - he's sharp as a tack and IMO may well not want to risk the upcoming struggle at that club to emerge from Ferguson's shadow.

I'm also less convinced than many of you that he'll only go where there's a shedload of cash for him to spend. He didn't have that at Porto, despite it being a significant step up for him in terms of Portuguese football, and he hasn't really had it at Inter either.

Would LOVE to see him here, unlikely though given our circumstances.
In Malaysia? Yes, I'd love to see him there, too. Anywhere but Liverpool.
Not for me at LFC. Malaysia will be impossible for him.

Fair point but he was fairly unknown when he took the Porto job and effectively put himself in the shop window by winning the CL there. At Inter he didn't really need much money having inherited a team that had won their league 3 years running.

I agree about the mancs though. He's probably too smart to try and live up to Slur Alex.
