Why is anyone taking this report seriously? How the fuck would the journalist know what wages Johnson's on? Apart from anything else, Johnson supposedly ruled out signing for City at the beginning of the bidding process because he wanted CL football. And why would we have to raise our offer to £100k just because City offered £80k? It makes no sense at all, and I don't believe it.

I also think the club deserves a bit of kudos for getting Mascher and his agent to agree to wages of only £30k per week. That must have been some fucking pep talk from Rafa! It probably is time to offer him more now though.

Have too agree with that mate.

Fuck me when Rafa arrived Daio (4yr), Cheyrou (5yr), Diouff (4yr), Le Tallec (6yr) were paid more than that, probably Pongolle as well. ???

Ah, , BUT where he said 'it will put a hugge dent in our operating expenses' I assumed he meant our transfer budget, so he was only right because I missunderstood him. Normality is returned!
No, he was only right because the coin he tossed came down on the side of OPEX.

:🙂

You really have something against me dont you ? Get over it. It's pathetic.

Day in, day out, I talk bout CAPEX and OPEX to my clients so purleasee....

OK then, for those of us who think CAPEX is what you spend on a purchase and OPEX is what you spend on maintaining it, can you explain where we're going wrong?

look you fucking irritating patronizing pompous wind-up merchant twat.

I'm a solution architect who talks bout terms such as cloud computing and virtualization to my clients.

And virtualization is all bout reducing capital expenses (CAPEX) as well as OPEX. Improving TCO and justifying your ROI.

CAPEX = capital expenses
OPEX = operating expenses

Do I have to fucking explain in detail what those terms mean, you little child ?

I accept that was misleading. What I should have said is: he threw a coin into the air, flailed around a bit, dropped it, lost it, found it again and decided Heads = OPEX.

What our resident 'Solutions Architect' has completely missed is that actually, I put H right ie Roger had the correct definition of OPEX.

Oh fuck, I used to work with solution architects (salesmen) in my last place. Sold all sorts of bollocks and then asked us if it was doable (most of the time wasn't and we had to bodge the solution). We could be in trouble with Roger here boys, they're usually champion blaggers.

Anyway, back to the point, I've just finished a more relaible paper and they're reporting about 60k a week for Mr Johnson. That sounds about right. So 60k a week and as good as a straight swap for Arbeloa, for an England international is a good bit of business I think. Need to crack on with the serious business of a quality forward now.

solution architects salesmen ?? I'm a solution architect for Vmware ok...nvm not that u'd know anything bout it anyway.

Oh dear Lord....

And those who constantly wage witchhunts on me at every single opportunity...does it not fucking bore u all ? Grow the Fuck up ffs.

I've said nothing whatsoever to you Leftpeg in this thread (as in many others as I've hardly participated in threads for the past few months and have also ignored all insults from everyone) yet some of u feel the need to constantly throw shit my way...

Hey if this sort of childish behaviour justifies u not being a twat simply cos with Roger, its entertaining then ok...time to call time from this forum.

All of you ask me not to act like a twat and I'll be welcome...so fine I've stopped saying random silly shit for a long long time and have u all stop giving me shit ? Have u Fuck.

some of u probably dislike me even more cos brendan's gone and I'm still here.

Yes I've throw hissy fits from the past saying I'd leave but then come back but ppl change and grow past a certain phase...and I've definitely grown past 6CM. its boring and tiresome logging in and getting abused at almost every single thing I say.

Am I the biggest cnut in 6CM ? Maybe I was but some of u lots actions at times don't differentiate you all much from me.

Ps : I know ur trying to wind me up from the start in this thread and I may have reacted but I don't think I've made myself look anymore foolish than anyone else simply cos I find it all tiresome and childish.

there is no camaraderie in the attitude towards me thus far to suggest its banter or pisstakes so no I'm not being melodramatic.

I just don't give a toss bout 6CM anymore to be honest.

Ah, c'mon - that's just a bit of friendly banter.

For a start Roger, you can stop banging on about what you do for a living and how much money you make because nobody is fucking impressed and it doesn't convince anyone of anything.

If you got into a little spat with someone in the supermarket, would you start yelling at them about how you clever you are, how much money you make and how you know what you're on about because you're a fucking solution architect?

It's fucking embarrassing.

Liverpool are making Glen Johnson one of the highest paid defenders in the game.

The shit says Johnson hit the jackpot in his £18.5million move from Portsmouth yesterday with a £100,000-a-week, four-year deal worth a whopping £21m.

The England full-back, 24, had given the thumbs up to Liverpool last Thursday, but Manchester City made a late attempt to hijack the switch.

And that led to Johnson striking it rich. Kop boss Rafa Benitez had expected to get his man on far lower wages, yet when City entered the bidding it led to a hasty rethink on his personal terms.

Mark Hughes' men were prepared to pay £80,000 a week and Benitez had to trump that figure to complete his first major transfer of the summer.

Liverpool are ready to hand Javier Mascherano a bumper pay-hike to keep him away from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The shit says Mascherano, 25, earns around £30,000 a week and has three years on his Anfield contract so manager Benitez is under no pressure to cash in now.

His position has also been strengthened by the fact Liverpool's owners claim they have agreed an extension to their £350m refinancing loan.

However, Benitez is aware he will have to bring the player's wages into line with the rest of Liverpool's big earners.

Despite being one of the world's top holding midfielders, Mascherano is also one of the poorest paid first-team regulars.

The "shit" is talking bollocks. Johnson is on a 80,000 per week according to Andy Hunter at the Guardian. And the transfer was worth only 17 million, or 10 with the Crouch debt taken into account.

I did follow my post up saying that I'd read that Guardian article and was more likely to take their figures instead mate 🙂

Is masher really on 30k a week?
Reminds me of when during the Galactico era when the rest were on £100k plus and Makelele was on £30 or £40k a week.

I'd be extremely surprised if that were the case, but if so you can kinda understand his contempt.

If Glen Johnson's worth £60-80k, Mascherano clearly deserves more.

Parallels can also be drawn to Wayne Bridge at Man City who's on £92k p/w, which consequently has led to more deserving players like Ireland becoming frustrated. This is the point I was arguing throughout this thread; there's a balancing act between landing the top-players and keeping your already key players happy.

I just hope we get it right.
