MLB Regular Season Thread 2010

I'm looking forward to this. I think the game is on very late over here though so I'll probably DVR it and watch it in the morning.

You've got to expect a Red Sox win, CC has had some terrible outings in April in the past few seasons. It's the only time of the year anyone should be happy to face him.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the new more defensive Red Sox do, as well as the Granderson / Gardner combo in the outfield for NY.

It has been a cracking game. Beckett got knocked about early on, Sabathia was going fine until the 6th. The Sox came back very well.

Rangers been no-hit after 7 innings ... Bloody hell.

By Shaun Marcum in his first start since elbow surgery.

Let's go Bluejays.

SG - that thing you have set up for Pujols, do the same for Jason Heyward later. I saw a few of his at bats in Spring training and he looks awesome.

Yep, he's in my fantasy baseball team 🙂

Have you seen this advert for that schoolkid on espn? Bryce Harper I think. He looks ridiculous. Should be top pick of this years draft. He has hit the longest ever HR in Tropicana Field when he was 16.

Yeah I've seen it a few times.

I was listening to some comments about Harper on a baseball podcast last week and they were saying he is the standout of the draft. They were saying he's a complete one off, his age, the fact he's in college already and a few other things. His catching isn't technically great either, but he's a superb hitter obviously. They were saying it's impossible to profile because of everything and despite his potential there's some risk there but because there are no other viable options to take over him whoever has first pick simply has to take him,

Rangers scored 2 in the 9th to win 5-4 ... Sweet!

Bluejays are 6-2, and Ricky Romero took a no hitter into the 8th last night.

This is promising, well at least until we start playing our own division.

Yep, LOVE that new defensive Red Sox line up..!

We already need to start putting things together or the Yankees AND Tampa Bay will be out of sight by mid-May. And this is not me panicing - Our division is THAT good. That NY line up is insane.

Avy - Rangers pitching is f$%!ing incredible so far this year. Their bats are silent though... Shame.

If pitching wins pennants, than let that continue because the hitting should wake up (ie Vlad will get some power with that avg and Young will be fine, and Kinsler returns).

Karl Ravech, I thought, made a fool of himself on ESPN when he picked Cruz to be AL MVP. I was in stitches ... His start has been unbelievable.

YOU'RE worried about the division. As a nominal Jays fan just on account of being Canadian, I wish the AL East did not exist.

I know it's only 12 games in, but the Red Sox are shite.

🙁

Yeah the pitching and defense thing isn't working too well, particularly when your DH has forgotten how to hit again

Hahaha.

Yankees and Rays really starting extremely well.

Only gripes about NY are Teixeira's poor start and Vasquez's and Hughes' starts so far.
