I like how this team is playing like a worse version of the same team. It's recognizable.
Yeah, the way they play bears the same hallmarks.

It's just slower, & not as natural or fluid, all of which is understandable considering their age/form/fitness/lack of playing time together.

Elliot is far more impressive than either Chamberlain or Keita so far
He's definitely the standout performer so far this evening.

Hopefully he'll be able to build on it, it's so hard to imagine bedding players into the first team at the moment considering the bar City have set making every game a must win.

Well, that's the thing isn't it? To get into the Liverpool team at a young age, especially in attacking positions, requires that player to be *exceptional*.

Owen, Fowler, McManaman, Sterling.

It's not really a long list, and they were all world class, or close to it.

Apart from all over the place, where is Gomez supposed to be playing? Him and Lovren are awful.

Yep, & I'd argue its even harder now, both because the players in the side ahead of them are (as a general rule, there's arguments over the strikers to be had) better than in the sides those lads broke into, & because the points are more valuable now than then due to that intense City pressure.

Some shocking defending there. Making it obvious that Lovren hasn't played footy at all & Gomez very little this season.

Yeah, maybe, but those four players would have broken into ANY Liverpool team.

True, despite the quality ahead of any young player we know Klopp will give them a chance if he thinks they can be good enough, which bodes well if young Billy Elliot continues to impress.

Yeah, but I suppose my not-very-well-hidden point is that I don't think we have anyone who is anywhere NEAR those four in quality and future first team prospects.

It's hard to know without them playing regular football with the first team though.

Using the last two to break through, TAA & Robbo, neither had that superstar in the making hype or even looked like they had had that in them until they got a run in the side.

It's hard to imagine Elliot, or Brewster (who definitely has that hype) getting a run alongside the stars to prove themselves.
