I mean, I hope not. But he's still got everything to prove. Big price, big expectations and combo of form and injury haven't made a great first impression. And I was camping out early on Naby but losing a bit of faith.
Don't lose the faith Darxy!

He could definitely still be a big deal for us but Keita needs to put together a long run of games soon before the manager starts looking elsewhere.

Mark Gonzalez, Harry Kewell, Morientes levels of disappointment with this transfer given the hype and his talent.

I'm quite skeptical of signings generally, but Keita will come good. He has the skills, the drive, and the correct manager.

To call him a disappointment now is ridiculous.

Ha ha. To say calling him a disappointment is ridiculous is in fact ridiculous. He has been. He may come good, but as others have pointed out he has a lot of work to do and up until now he has been a huge disappointment.

What I don't understand is some of you losing faith in him because he isn't playing. How about we wait and see how he does on the pitch before making our minds up? He looked really good last season, before the injury.
It's only one season and most of you have given the likes of Lallana six. Some still think he's a "marquee player".
Even now with all his available options, in the biggest games you know it's going to be from Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson and Milner as the most likely three.
This certainly feels true, but I don't get it as you look back on some of our most impressive wins including the 17/18 CL run and we had Ox at the front of that midfield tearing it up against City. Maybe he just needs to trust he can get the work rate out of Ox/Naby before putting them back in.

I remember seeing some #NabyStats last season and he was leading the way for pressing and tackling which makes me think that once 100% fit we'll see him become a permanent fixture in the side.

Yeah that is it for me... Its not like we watched Keita play a whole season and not get a single goal or show any promise... he played very well at times in his first season; despite the setbacks. He scored in 3 games on the trot if memory serves. His press and goal against Huddersfield alone should give people patience. To have made up your mind against him at this point is folly.

He started off as a bigger part of the team than Fabinho, albeit for a few games only, then he tailed off a bit, got injured, came back soon after Fabinho had established himself in the team and looked to have cracked it; he was really impressive for a run of games - don't forget he was part of the first choice midfield to face Barcelona, so Klopp clearly trusted him. Then he got injured again. Without the injuries I think he would be just as established in our midfield as Fabinho, so folks who are slating him are really having a go at the fact he was injured.

Give him (injury free) time and he will establish himself. As has often been repeated it took Robertson, Chamberlain and Fabinho time to get established in the team

There's a bit of selective memory on both sides here.

He did indeed play well towards the end of last season - before getting another injury - and was starting to put together some good displays, but he was also fucking abysmal in some games earlier in the season - before getting another injury.

I'm losing faith in him because he keeps getting injured. That's it.

I get that. I felt the same regarding Kewell, Kirkland and Sturridge. But it's been one season and 6 league games. Come on...
One more season of the same and I'll be in the bandwagon with you.

Kirkland was demonstrably fucking shit, the only good thing about him was the fact he was always injured, because that meant he didn't play very often

Kirkland was young and at that time none of us knew how he'd develop, but yeah he was shit whenever he played basically.

I have a lot more faith in Keita coming good than Chamberlain.
And by that I mean becoming a regular starter
And their wasn't a massive difference in their fees either

Bandwagon? Hardly. I think he's exactly what we need for certain games, when he shows his best. And Klopp's system takes time. But he's shown the need to get consistent games, and if he can't play regularly due to his body not holding up, we'll never see any consistency from him. If he doesn't show it this season, it's a problem. He's had a shit off season, and he's already injured again.

A big part of being a regular starter is being able to regularly start.
That's undeniable, but I don't think he was ever a fragile player before coming to Liverpool. He has had an injury that was exacerbated by being mishandled by his national side which has led to ongoing issues. If we manage his return well (and this seems something that we are becoming careful about), then there's no reason to believe that he can't become the durable player he once was.

The Barca injury was unlucky, but it looked bad. Nothing he could have done to avoid that shit. I liked what I saw of him. Not afraid to take the ball through press Levels, neat and creative when fit and scored a goal or two. He will come fine.

If the fleeting glimpses of quality we have seen can be realised I think this could be our best midfield trio:

---------Fabinho---------
----------------Keita------
------Ox-------------------

However it is risky until both Naby & Ox both get match sharp. Gini vs Keita is a close one at top form.

That midfield terrifies me

Eh? Did he fuck look really good!

He shows glimpses of promises between eternities of shitness.

He was shocking earlier on, and in games against United, Palace, Wolves and West Ham, he looked fucking clueless.

But he did have a more impressive run of form around Easter, and was decent against Porto, Chelsea and Southampton, but he still looked a defensive liability.

Almost everyone stating their disappointment has also said they still rate him and hope / expect him to come good. Are we not allowed to be concerned or disappointed that it hasn't happened for him yet?

I doubt anyone is going to go militant anti Keita in every thread winding half the forum up.
