Missing person.. Coutinho please please find him

Yes but why not pick on Lallana or Firmino
Because Lallana and firmino aren't regularly lauded as one of our better players

Lallana at least offers work rate. Coutinho barely offers effort. He's not as good as the likes of pirlo , or xabi, (I know, different positions) who can orchestrate matches at a casual saunter

Why is it down to someone else stepping up?

No one stepped up, except Kolo and Sturridge for that worldy.

Coutinho has the ability to be sensational, but he looks like he can't be arsed 75% of the time.

Sturridge is shit holding the ball up. That is a much bigger problem than Coutinho goes missing in games. We lost the ball time after time in the second half because Sturridge couldn't hold on to it so we could move up the team.

Perhaps if players helped Sturridge and got near him, so he doesn't have to hold the ball up for ages

I can understand that.

Poor performance but I'm not going to stick the boot into him or anyone else. We've just lost a final so I'll deal with the disappointment first.

None of our attacking midfielders are particularly commanding or dynamic and Coutinho is often anonymous. He doesn't have it in him to boss the midfield area, he can pass and shoot but has little use defending high up or tackling. He needs a lot of support and no responsibility to shine. Tonight was a classic example.

Well, I believe that Coutinho will be a Liverpool player next season. I doubt that Sturridge will be that. Sturridge was an excellent player before his many injuries but he lost a lot of pace now. He scores a lot of goals but don't offer much else to the team.

I can understand why Klopp bench him.

None of our players had a good game today. Not even in the first half but the work rate and tackling was there at least. We didn't get anything once they scored.

what do you want from a striker when he's getting fuck all service?

a striker can't do it all ffs, get a grip.

he's a striker who does his job, scores a lot of goals.

we need to ship out the fodder who doesn't do their jobs, i.e moreno and mignolet.

I think the third was but it can no excuse for that second half. We were completely outfought and couldn't get a foothold. From five minutes in it was obvious we were in trouble. Someone needed to step up at that point but nobody did.
Personally I thought that is where Klopp should have stepped in.
And I love the big Kraut

Yeh we made subs waaaaaay too late.

the problem started before that.....the problem started when ref blew for 2nd half.

we fell asleep right from the off, klopp needs to address the issue.....it's a very costly issue as we've seen tonight.

i want to see a ruthless klopp in summer, if mignolet and moreno allen skrtel and lucas are still here then ???????????????? will be asked.

Just got back to my air bnb, thought he was anonymous.

But in his defence is left wing really his best position?

Didn't he play centrally in 13/14 either at tip of the diamond or one of the central pair, obviously back then he had SSS to pick out....

Ah, your shift button appears to be working.

He's been a revelation for us over the past two seasons but tonight was a real blot on his copybook for sure.

Hopefully he'll use the experience as a real motivation to improve his consistency as a young player and kick onto become the world class player be promises to be.

None of them were pens.
One was. The one that they didn't seem to ask Howard cunting Webb about at half time. The one where the defender actually scraped his knuckles on the floor trying to prevent a through ball to Lallana (and succeeded)

I think there were three justifiable claims of varying degrees for penalties in the first half.
We have seen all of them given over the years but just as many times not.
For all three not to be given does seem a tad excessive/unlucky though.

Both Brazilian wizzards had a poor game. Even in first half when we had lots of play on their half they went awol. Best South America midfield was Banega. I think he would fit well in to our future

The worst thing was, we did everything exactly right at half time. We walked off with intent to get in the changing rooms and to regroup. Klopp and Sturridge both more or less legged it to the tunnel, and I took that as a good sign. We wanted to get back in there and be professional and to regroup and talk about more of the same for the second half.

Instead, they regrouped and made a few minor positional tweaks which was enough to pen us back and basically undo our pressing philosophy.

Too easy.

Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana ... none have any level of consistency, they're all 1 in 4 or 5 players. That's a problem when they all have an off day together. We need better players, as we all know.
Defensively, as much as Kolo is a ledge, it's a real problem that he's our best defender, it just confirms how mediocre the others are. Apart from Clyne and Matip (albeit an unknown quantity), the back 5 needs a serious rework. No point commenting on Moreno.
A Makelele-a-like in midfield would be nice, and a (proper) class attacking mid is a pre-requisite.
Aside from the wrench of losing the final, I would imagine this is a serious disruption to Klopp's summer plans. Also, should add, I kind of expected a bit more from him as the shit was hitting the fan.
Sevilla are a good footballing side, has to be said.
