So his first season at the club, hows he done?

For me he's had his purple patches of form and his average patches, so im not entirely sure what to expect of him next season, other than possibly more inconsistency as his performances one again range from fantastic to unspectacular but sound.

Given the most probable arrival of a destroyer type midfielder this summer, what role will Ming even play next year?

would anyone advocate sticking stevie out on the right to ensure Ming keeps his position in the starting eleven? Is he too good to be a squad player next year, or maybe we'll see a formation that involves Ming, stevie and A.N other ?

Id give him a B for his first season. Some great passing, vision and movement on the pitch, some nice goals as well. He is good when breaking out quickly also. My main concerns about him are sometimes he can be a shit house and he does have a tendency to go missing in matches. On the whole I am pleased with him though.

First season in the Prem and the a foreign country, into a shite team ran by a fucking shite manager initially where he was one our better players. Has been played out of position loads of times due to our lack of ability in those areas and still done OK but he's not as good as when in his natural position.. The lad's done well IMO.

Yeah, he's done well and proven to be great value for money at ~12M.

I don't really see any reason to concern ourselves with his role next season. He's proven he can fill in where needed and that he has quality. Whether or not he's first choice should hopefully come down to his own form and that of his competition - as it should be.

Bang on Keni. We've moaned about having strength in depth for beards now. Now this may actually come to fruition. Our owners mean business this summer from what I've heard

So you think he'll be a mainstay next season then?
Depends on formation and Gerrard's injuries really.

I think he's been excellent and will be even better next season. During our dark days, earlier this season, there were people suggesting our squad wasn't good enough but now under Dalglish it's become patently clear that our squad could be very nearly good enough.

With players such as Ming, Johnson, Reina, Suarez, Carroll, Gerrard, Kelly, Kuyt being pivotal to our chances of success next season, if we get in another couple of top additions, and have a squad also featuring Spearing, Carra, Lucas, Flanagan, Skrtel, Wilson etc we will definitely challenge for the title next season.

I will add that he's certainly a signing that came as a 'pleasant surprise' and for that reason alone he get's B from me, as it makes a change from Doss player X being linked to us for a month before we eventually and unfortunately sign X.

Care to Elaborate on that, mate?

Nope other than if what I've heard comes true we'll be back in business big time

woah, before I get any more excited I read somewhere on here the other day that if your source is 100% correct, it's going to bullshit, so before I jizz myself with excitement over these transfer-rumour morsels, can you confirm that your source is slightly less than a 100% confident in whatever your alluding to?
Not names.
Come on now don't keep it to yourself! Its highly unlikely that multi-million pound deal will go up the swannee because you told us what you heard.

I don't have names just that we will be making substantial, and I mean substantial, investment in top end players and more than one put it that way. Source is fairly reliable yeh but I can't really say any more than that

Oh well, cheers for the heads up sunny; certainly makes for an exciting summer..

Fair enough, if you hear anything let us know. We need some ITK's here 🙂

Back on topic I think Ming has been a good signing. His central partnership with Lucas was at times immense, his reinvention into a box to box midfielder has been surprisingly good and he bailed us out a few times with important goals when we needed him to. For a first season I'd give him an A/ B+

I'm excited.

I am with Sunny on this too, it's not often our views differ to be honest.
All things considered he has been a great signing for us, he has been up and down in form, but what Liverpool player has not this season, he has more excuses than most for it. The big criticism when he arrived was that he was not getting stuck in enough, well he seems to get into tackles much better now and works very hard.
For me he may not be an A* like Suarez, but I think he has done enough to earn an A. I think that run of goals he had kick-started our climb back.
I think like many foreign signings we will see even more from him next season.
Well done Ming, earns his place in the team for me

regards

In the same sentence? From Pesam?
Holy crap.

A

I think he's been very good, and sme of the issues about him shirking from tackles did ariseshortly after coming back from injury, so it might have been understandable then. He's really been a great asset to us, and I was very happy when we got him...I remember watching him at the World Cup and thinking he'd be great for us. 8)

Where the fuck is Mark Mc?
He already said we would be shopping in Harrods this summer.

Ming has been great, a player adapting to the Prem in his first season away from home. It normally takes a season or two to adapt to the prem and the pace etc.

I think Vlad has it spot on, his purple patch helped give the team confidence and a number of points to start building on the pitch.

The news about spending big on big players also pleases me obviously. It means that we can compete with the stupid clubs for players, if we so desired that can only be good news....now if I could get a message to Comolli or Henry or someone and get them to buy Wesley we would be sorted.
