A caff near here makes a superb all-day breakfast, which even won an award from the local Tourist Board for the best breakfast in the area. The place is always packed during the school holidays, so I don't go then and was therefore doubly looking forward today to my first all-day brekkie for weeks. The place was still quite full, but mostly of grandparents with toddlers, so at least the little darlings (mostly) weren't old enough to run around and annoy everybody that way.
As the waitress brought my breakfast over, some old loudmouth on the next table with a voice like a feckin foghorn started up about it. Couldn't hear everything he said, but some of it seemed to be him mithering about how "they don't make 'em like they used to/just microwave the bacon on one side" [?!] and assorted other rubbish. I just wanted to get it quietly down my neck, so I let it pass, but it annoyed the f'ck out of me and I don't intend to keep schtumm if I see the old git in there again and he starts again.
Is it just me, or does anybody else find it infuriatingly rude when somebody on the next table in a cafe or restaurant starts commenting on your scran?
