In an exclusive interview with Liverpoolfc.tv, the 23-year-old talked about the boost playing regularly for Brazil has given him over the last few months.

And the midfielder shared his thoughts ahead of becoming a father for the very first time.

"In March my first boy will be born. I'm really happy and it'll change my life for sure. But I'm ready for the challenge," said Lucas.

"All the players have one or two babies and so I'm getting a lot of advice because I'm new to this!"

Lucas put in a fine midfield display in the 2-1 victory over Blackburn on Sunday, spraying the ball out to the flanks and never shirking from a challenge.

It comes after a hat-trick of starts for Brazil under new coach Mano Menezes.

"I'm pleased with the way I played at the weekend and with how I'm playing since last season," said Lucas. "I think I'm improving all the time. I only have to do one thing: work and try to be better every single day.

"Every single year I'm improving as a player. When I first came here I was only a young player and I didn't know much about how hard the Premier League was. Now I'm completely settled. I'm still only 23 and I still have many things to work on in training.

"I'm back in the squad and playing regularly for Brazil. That's given me more confidence and the people in Brazil are happy with my performances."

Lucas has been keeping supporters up to date with what he's up to on the social networking site Twitter.

The South American was quick to speak to his followers following the Blackburn win, tweeting: "I would like to thank all the Liverpool supporters today. You were amazing. I hope we keep the same spirit that we had today YNWA."

Now he is hoping to write a similar message after this weekend's trip to Bolton.

He said: "We were under a lot of pressure before Blackburn and to be honest we still are because we are not in a comfortable position in the table, but we believe in ourselves. We'll go into the next game with a lot more confidence and hopefully we can win a few games in a row.

"The Premier League is so competitive. You can't name one game that's easy. I think it's the most competitive league in the world. Players who aren't here don't realise how physical it is. They only realise when they come here. It's a very difficult league to play in.

"But we have to go to Bolton and try to play the same way we did at Anfield and for sure if we do that we'll have a big chance of winning.

"The way they play is very similar to Blackburn - very physical and long balls. Last season Stevie scored a very nice goal at the end and we won - hopefully we can get the same result this time.

"You have to be brave against these teams. Sometimes you don't win every challenge, so you have to be aware of the second ball. You have to try and play with the ball on the ground. Passing the ball is the best thing this team can do.

"We are six points behind the top four and that shows how competitive the league is, so if we can get two or three wins in a row we'll be up there."

Collecting three points against Owen Coyle's men would likely lift Liverpool into mid-table after a testing opening to the Roy Hodgson era.

Lucas added:"The way the manager wants to play is different, so we have to get the message and play how he likes. Of course when you don't start well, the pressure will always be higher. But we're going the right way to improve things and we showed that at the weekend."

Hopefully his partner will get homesick and want to bring his kid up somewhere fucking hot where they speak the lingo and the cunt will fuck off out of Liverpool.
