Don't give me the sanctimonious shit Froggie.
You realise that there are witnesses that say Shields was comatose when the attack happened ?
Do you realise that Sankey and another fella were already in custody for the attack when the police went back to the hotel to find the third guy (described as being 5'7 with dark hair) ? Shields being 6 foot tall with blond hair, was arrested and made to wear clothes similar to the attacker.
No physical evidence was ever produced in court despite there being plenty from the scene.

Sanctimonius ? Hardly.
I am just not apt to believe everything the British press print. Even more so not living there and seeing the crap they come up with half the time. Most people, having been inundated by supportive press, particularly local, advocating Shields' innocence, since the incident, follow that belief.
BTW. As far as I am aware those witnesses didn't know Shields either and their statements were far from credible, or indeed non conflicting, in themselves. In fact the evidence supplied would not have got a conviction in the UK. That doesn't in itself prove innocence though.
I remember reading through the statements released by all parties at the time, I'm not going to revisit it now, and I formed an opinion and since then there has not exactly been a wealth of new evidence to definitively sway anyone one way or the other.
No matter what opinion you hold, innocent, guilty or sitting pretty on the fence, it is impossible to draw a definitive conclusion from the information we have. So how does Jack Straw.
