Michael Owen: He just gets odder and odder

He was still blazing fast when we won the treble.
He was... But was also the reason he got injured so much. He'd try and use that speed when his hamstring couldn't handle the load.

Keown said he could notice the slow down as well.

I'm not an Owen apologist. If he said all this as soon as he retired, he'd have got more sympathy than now. I still think of him as a judas.

I have no idea why we would even appoint him ambassador. He screwed us when he left for Real, though we could put that to ambition or whatever, still forgivable on hindsight.

He then double up by going to join old toilet, playing for a manager who promised to knock us off our perch. Watching his delirious celebration after scoring the last min winner against Citeh was disgusting. He is part of their "history" after that.

He should have rejected the ambassador role but he took it anyway. He is just a mercenary whoring himself to anyone for the money. He has no allegiance to anyone but himself.

He should stop pretending he has for us.

Because he's very well known in Asia and some other parts of the world where we have commercial ambitions, and he's simply a useful figure to include in the schmoozing that accompanies such projects.
