Barcelona without Messi:
1 UCL in 50 years
16 leagues in 76 years
2 UCS in 22 years
0 club WC in 40 years
5 Spanish super cups in 21 years
0 treble in 50 years
13 times qualified for UCL in 50 years

Barcelona with Messi:
4 UCLs
10 leagues
3 UCS
3 club WC
8 super cup
2 trebles
17 times qualified for UCL in 17 years
Without Messi Barcelona are about to go Europe league for the second consecutive season

It's quite insane how much success he was a part of ...

As someone who started watching football when they had ballers like Figo and Rivaldo, I find the stat that they only qualified for CL 13 times in 50 years completely mad

Its’s a misleading stat - because for 40 odd of those years it was only the Champions that qualified - I reckon they only finished outside of the top 4 in 5 of those 50 years.

Could be wrong here but didn't his Roma side drop from the Europa League into the Europa Conference last season?

I know they ha e been known as a great European team, but to be honest, I never quite understood why, when they won their first CL cup, we had already won it four times. But also let's not forget that back in the day, none of those teams could fill their squads with the best talent from Europe and South America due to rules regarding home talent. Even Madrid back when Barca won their first had not won a CL trophy for what 20 years ? they only had 5 back then which was the highest total back then with us, Ajax, and AC Milan, Bayern the next most winners of that trophy.

I don't think anyone can under estimate the training that Messi had, I mean he would have picked up tips from the likes of Etu, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho, and also Xavi and Iniesta coming through back then never seen the like of in Barca midfield history.
